Major General Smedley Darlington Butler Responds to a Grown Patriot-tot
FROM ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT AND SUBVERSIVE SHOWS OF THE 1960’S
Whenever I thought of the “Red Communists” I always pictured Boris and Natasha.
One of My Dear Readers, let’s call him “John” (really his name) seems to be floundering in jingoistic Magic Sky Cloth vibes.
Predictably, every time I post something even slightly critical about the Magic Sky Cloth, or Big Towel on a Stick, I receive a message like the one John composed to me (obviously, he has no idea who I am because he says maybe one of my “relatives” was killed in war—duh).
From John:
In case you've forgotten, many have DIED to protect YOU and YOUR rights to voice your
opinion such as you have done here.
So when you diss the flag that those men - maybe even relatives of yours - fought under, you're not just
disrespecting the flag and those who died for what it stands for ( the Peace-time flag of course - not the war-time flag )
you're disrespecting America, Americans and OUR Values. And you're disrespecting your own ascendants. They must be
very proud to have raised such a pathetic and ignorant rebel.
So maybe you should move to China, Russia, Ukraine, Canada or any other country whose flag you'll pledge allegiance to.
God knows we don't need or want antiAmerica people like you in America.
We'll all be better off.
There is so much wrong with the above: people “DIED” to protect ME and my right to “voice” MY opinion, but if I do, then I should move to some country and worship their Big Towels on Sticks. I have been to countless other countries in my travels and I can guarantee that no one worships their flags and are confused by the plethora of this cult in the U.S.
John also says that I should worship the “Peace-time” flag. Since the US has been at “peace” for only about two-dozen years of its existence, and NEVER in my lifetime, then I don’t understand John’s point.
My “ascendants” (my children and grandchildren) are very proud of me and they are not your average ignoramus Duh-merican who think like John.
Finally, if to be “American” means I have to support war, oppression and suppression of human rights, then I guess that I am “antiAmerica” (sic).
Before I give my Soapbox to someone (Major General Butler) more eloquent and more qualified to speak on this than am I, here’s my brief response to John:
Sure, sure.
Don't forget that my son was murdered in a bullshit war based on lies. He didn't die so I could criticize the magic sky cloth. He died to enrich Cheney and others.
Please do not think that I am upset about John’s communication, I am just using it to illustrate another point and to be able to support my post.

""john" Is what's worng with America. Passionate and ignorant at the same time. A docile doofus who I can do without. I wish he'd move or huff a tailpipe.
And we thought the old "love it or leave it" thing was directed exclusively at hippies. As always, your friend for peace.
