In a World of Symbolic Protest, be a White Rose
Sophie, Hans, Lepa, and Courageous Resistance

I hate how Stonehenge drills for and uses massive amounts of oil, don’t you?
Very few humans really want to die. I think that’s a basic premise. I have been with a few people as their final breaths approached and no matter how ill that they were, they cling on to this “mortal coil.” However, in human history, there have been thousands who were willing to sacrifice their lives to save others.
This is not the case with Just Stop Oil, or other activist organizations that perform street theater, which often piss off people who are on their side more than they spread their message.
As an activist who has been gassed, or attacked with the sound weapons at protests, and has been arrested (sometimes very harshly, I got a mild concussion in NYC, once), I understand that symbolism can be important, but, mostly ineffective.
This may come as a shock to people, but, some of these actions like spray-painting Stonehenge, or defacing priceless works of art, may be doing it to undermine the movements! What!? Agents provacateur in organizations? This is more common, than not. Have you noticed that, if the media covers a protest, or an organization, they focus on the most crazy looking person in the crowd? Ask Ray Epps in re Jan 6th, for example.
Today in my Facebook memories was a post about the heroic, Serbian Nazi resistance fighter Lepa Radic. A 17-year-old freedom fighter that was hanged by the Nazis and refused to give up her comrades to save her life. Her final words were reportedly: ““You will know them when they come to avenge me.”

Admired Sophie Scholl and The White Rose movement for years. Citizens For Free Speech has a lovely White Rose pin you can buy to support them, and wearing it makes a great conversation starter about free speech issues. The 1982 movie is a must watch with a box of tissues at the ready!

I am a FREE SPEECH absolutist! All the censorship out there is pure evil!
Without freedom of speech and expression, there is nothing but a 'boot stamping on your face forever', total tyranny and slavery! Free speech must be protected and preserved at all costs!

It's hard to choose, but Rachel Corrie comes to mind. She actually put her body in front of a Zionist bulldozer ....
