In the kkkk-rappy year of 2020, in the month of August, when things that were forced to close, like restaurants were starting to kind of reopen (take out only), we were urgently awakened one morning by a neighbor alerting us to the fact that what would become the LNU Complex fire was beginning to get uncomfortably close to where we lived. The hills surrounding our area were ablaze. Luckily, since I don’t own a car, I was staying with my daughter just in case we did have to skedaddle, which we did. Fleeing active flames has caused us all to have PTSD. Whenever the dry winds start up here—we don’t call them Santa Anas—not sure we have a name for them—we all get nervous. We do have those conditions right now.
The conditions were very similar to what is happening in Los Angeles right now. Understand that I grew up in Southern California, and now live in Northern California, so I am super-familiar with the entire large state AND weather patterns. Santa Ana winds are nothing new, but, California has also been under El Niño conditions for several years—that means a lot of moisture and there has been flooding in the entire state. Tulare Lake made a reappearance. Lake Tulare, or Tache Lake in the native Yokuts, is an interesting story—read about it here.
The issue here in the “Golden State” (now the Ashy State) is not about the lack of water, but, water management and brush management. After the LNU fire (and after Paradise Cal burned down in 2018), we up in the Northern part aggressively cut back trees that are encroaching on power lines; clear brush aggressively around structures AND, in the most annoying, but necessary measure, our stupid power company PG&E shuts off power if the conditions are ripe for another inferno. From what I have been hearing, the power company in So Cal left the lines (that should be buried) live when there were hurricane force winds.
Both the state and Los Angeles have drastically cut funding for fighting fires in a state with astronomical taxes and apocalyptic wildfires. Whenever we see any of our local firefighters, we still thank them for not allowing our town to burn to the ground in 2020—thus meeting its demise like Paradise and Pacific Palisades
Like the disaster in Maui, firefighter access to water was very hampered. Honestly, with the immensity of the inferno Down South (as we here Up North call it), it would have been a problem anyway. I bet Newsolini was regretting those billions of gallons of free rain water he allowed to run into the Pacific—or maybe he didn’t. Read this that was posted on Substack.
I am not sure about the above, but, I don’t put anything past the Garbage People class.
This reminds me of the FIFA Cup favela clearance in 2014, but, so far, with the working-class devastation, some pretty ritzy L.A. areas have been decimated.
My brother who lives Down South is okay—he says the ash covering is like snow. I hope everyone who lives Down South is well, and safe, but, the carnage is apocalyptic in some places and at least 10- are confirmed as dead. The death toll will probably go up as people are able to sift through those ashes.
No matter where you are, or what you are going through, though, please celebrate the fact that The Cadaver in Chief is now a great-grandfather. I swear, he is so disconnected from reality that he thinks we are supposed to jump for joy and be comforted by this miraculous news when our world is literally burning down. It reminds me of when he was in Maui and he talked about the “apocalyptic” kitchen fire he was involved in.
The good new is:
Also eff Bunter Hiden:
In conclusion, for now, this disaster is brought to us by bad governance in this uni-party state. We cannot divorce our lives from politics. “Politics” means work of the people. Let’s get these things back under our control.
FYI: we are also safe here Up North. We are hundreds of miles away from the current inferno, but, we do have friends, and loved ones Down South.

Thanks for posting this Cindy ... we too have loved ones in the Mismanaged Area, and are acutely interested. With such disasters exposing the ruling idiots and the likes of patriots like you living in the commiefied state, maybe things will soon get better there ... hope springs eternal.
Best of luck, ~~ j ~~
Today LA is burning, vandals are setting fires as well and firefighters have to use women's handbags to carry water to extinguish the flames but Biden's got their backs. Biden gave away their emergency firefighting equipment to Ukraine years ago. Can people see the real Biden now? "Oh just quit yer bitchin', the man is a saint!". Does this sound familiar?
This destruction of LA similar to Maui in 2023 seems part of a UN resolution to destroy certain areas (using George Soros money) and pick up the land for pennies and rebuild how NGOs like World Economic want, then they control it all. Newsolini is in with these and Biden wants to call any "America first" ideas a crime. So Biden's a goddamned great grandfather but his war against the population continues in full force.
