I would rather sit in a tub of ice than watch any POTUS deliver a State of the Union (SOTU) speech. I don’t care which slimy worm is delivering it, but when was the last time a POTUS gave a true accounting of where the nation has been, where it is, now, and a plan to make it better? In my opinion, the speeches have become nothing more than partisan 3rd reich rallies.
As an aside, I heard there was a Gold Star father at Genocide Joe’s old man rant who got arrested for yelling at him. I get the energy, but the only time I was ever invited (by former Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey D-Ca) to an SOTU speech, I was arrested for wearing a t-shirt with a message on it long before the a$$hole Genocide George even began to ramble.
When I was removed from SOTU, 2006
Besides JoJo saying “my predecessor” about a dozen times (tell me how it wasn’t a campaign rally) and slurring his speech a purported 123 times, on the evening of the SOTU, I would switch back and forth to JoJo screaming at the world just to prove to himself that he is, indeed, alive. Once on my voyeuristic peek into the collapse of Western Civ, I happened to hear him say he was fighting for “the soul of America.” ShitLIBS are upset that JoJo called the person who murdered university student Laken Riley an “illegal” and doucheCONS are upset that he murdered Riley’s name by calling her “Lincoln Riley.” Sure, let’s be upset about words and not the policies that caused tragedies on a daily basis.
What does saving the soul of an idea even mean, though? The USA is merely an idea that is turning into a bad nightmare for many people who live here, and around the world. Souls are ideas, the USA is an idea, so I would rather hear how I can stretch my Social Security deposit to pay my bills and eat for an entire month?
Instead of pissing on my head and telling me it’s raining, I’d rather Basic Biden tell me that he was working on programs to abolish the war machine; and to lower the cost of basic human needs like food, shelter, and transportation costs for seniors, working-families, and singles who are simply trying to make ends meet while billionaires are hoarding all the good stuff for themselves. Does anyone else find it ironic that these greedy politicians pinky-swear to do something good for us if they get a majority in all three branches of government, but conveniently contract amnesia when that actually happens.
Saying that he’s going to fight to Save the Soul of America is far easier than actually outlining a program to make life easier for 340 million people by using his office to make positive changes, rather than spending his days being a drug pusher for big pHARMa, or an arms dealer for Netanyahoo and Zelenskyy. Influence peddling and enriching his own family is Brand Biden. We should all change our last names to Biden and maybe we can get in on the Family Business?
If nations actually do have souls (what is a soul?) then I would have to say the USA has some very dark karma to make up for. From its infancy, this country (like many others) exterminated the native population to near extinction. Not for lack of trying, some indigenous survived, but were forced onto the worst land in reservations.
All of the glorious buildings in WashedUp, DeCeit were built by forced slave labor, for example. Instead of voluntarily abolishing the diseased practice of owning human beings, their labor, their children, their vaginas, their “souls,” a bloody war needed to be fought between brothers, cousins, and fellow “Americans.” Doesn’t it seem so oddly American that almost one million people had to die to correct a problem that could have been solved peacefully? (Yes, I know that there were many causes of the Civil War, but, you get the gist).
Of course, the “Soul of America” has been steeped in war and violence from day one. To be fair and honest (lol), the motto on the dollar bill should be “In War We Trust.” How many millions of citizens of this country and globally have been slaughtered in our Souls’ quest for profit and power?
I’d love if we’d imagine a better country because this “Soul” cannot, and, should not, be “saved.” I don’t want to hear platitudes and bullshit and I am discouraged that most people think that if they line up behind one of the parties of war and Wall Street, that we can forestall the slide into oblivion.
I’m the leader that I want to see in the world. I’m the one that has love for myself, my family, and my community. I’m the one that knows what needs to be done for positive change and to move forward so WE can begin to drain The Swamp.
I know that WE have the power to do that, but most of us lead lives of “quiet desperation” and feel powerless against the crimes of the Garbage People. That’s just the way they like it.

Thanks so much for your brilliant insights and your compassion. In 2012 there was a little known study none by Princeton and, I believe, North Western University, in which the conclusion was that it makes absolutely no difference which party occupies the White House nor what the people want. Its conclusion was clear to all who were paying attention. The oligarchs got their way 99 per cent of the time. Since then it has gotten even worse.
We really need to find a way to change this horrible systems before it literally kills us all.
Cindy Sheehan, you are a treasure!
If we had a soul, it was quickly hijacked by the manipulators...
Even at the start...
The Constitution was so lacking that they had to AMEND it with the bill of rights, because people were protesting the lack of rights in the Constitution!
