Totally agree about handwriting. I write letters every day and solely use fountain pens, because I love the feel and flow. I don't love cursive personally, but it is coming back in schools in my state, so the teachers are going to have to be trained, lol. There are more modern styles of joined handwriting that could work better than the outdated Palmer Method. I need to try the nondominant hand thing, great idea.
My spouse wrote about Generation Jones in his punk rock book and has researched the influence of music, particularly early punk, on this generation.
Actually, it's more that the "education managers" don't want to bother with it and passed down the "guidelines" to the teachers, who now accept not teaching cursive as the norm. After all, there's no "data" showing cursive helps test scores.
Do you always have to use a code, or did you try to comment from an unrecognized device? Please let me know. I have already commented on two other substacks, and I did not need a code?
Born in 1955, that makes me Generation Jones too! I like that better than Boomers!
And I love handwriting, have been journaling for decades all handwritten in notebooks and no desire to ever post it online even though it would probably make a good blog.
Does being born in 55 mean I have a Jones 4 Peace Cindy?

thanks for your input Kim…interesting about punk rock’s influence on my generation. Punk pretty much escaped me, though.
Thanks for the article on handwriting!
I hear that teachers don't want to bother with cursive anymore...😳

Yes...when I went to comment it said to check my email for a code in order to comment. But it didn't this time!
That video was hilarious. Cindy, why do we have to go get a code to make a comment now? What a pain in the @#$
