I don't know how anyone still supported him after he ignored the outright conspiracy to deny him the nomination, as revealed by Wikileaks. Instead, he buys into "Russia! Russia! Russia!" Thanks!
I can’t wait to watch the debates between Pedo Joe and RFK. Oh yeah... there will be no debates as per the DNC LOL. They’re so busy protecting democracy around the world, they don’t have time to practice it here.
Sheepdog is a great image! I've been using Hillary's term of Pied Piper, but the corral is a more appropriate destination
Unfortunately the true independents who DON'T lead their followers into the corral are destroyed.
Henry Wallace was mocked and turned into a laughingstock. In high-school history, we saw a movie of Wallace's 1948 convention and we were instructed to laugh and mock it. (Later I learned more about him and realized that he LITERALLY saved the country from starvation by fixing the Dust Bowl. He should be on Mount Rushmore, not a target of derision.)
George Wallace was shot.
Ross Perot got the same treatment as Henry Wallace, mocked and scandaled out of the ring by the Bush family.
There's a great documentary about Wallace. He was truly an incredible man. I think the nation turned down another evil road when the dems screwed him out of the VP slot, because you-know-who was nominated and ended up dropping the bomb(s).
In 1950, HUAC finished off Henry Wallace in a truly shameful display of disloyalty. He had been serving FDR as a sort of troubleshooter during the war, pushing slow bureaucrats and smoothing ruffled feathers abroad. By 1950 Deepstate decided that Russia was the enemy again, so all of our assistance to our wartime ally was retroactively treason. The crucial moment of the hearing was preserved on an old radio broadcast....
By the time of the 2024 election, Biden will be a couple weeks from his 82nd birthday. He is already in observable mental decline -- not that he was ever more than a mental mediocrity anyway. WTF are democrats thinking?? Apparently, the field of potential winning democrat candidates is so thin, they're going with somebody who'll likely die in office, or be too incapacitated to continue propping up like a talking manakin. Which means, democrats will be voting for the Vice President instead. If Harris is still on the ticket, I hope they get trounced. I would rather take my chances with the republicans than suffer a Harris administration. In any case, I'm sitting this one out, and probably the rest; the farce has become so obvious there's no rationalizing the vote anymore. Per this article, I think a "Boycott the Vote!" is a great idea and is actually long overdue.
Yeah, that's a tough one; finding something catchy that illustrates the reasoning behind it, for instance, the Obama administration that promised "hope and change" but gave us "nope and same".
Maybe Mrs. Obama, folks? Biden is ill. I don't think he will last. And Michelle perhaps will be moved into the space. It's like watching a deranged nursery school class of psychotic kids playing musical chairs....
Bernie is a sell out, for a very cheap price. What a dummy true believer!
For what he did, he should have millions lol.
Kim iversen started to understand why rfk was running as a Democrat, but only if he doesn't pull a Bernie who didn't pull his support base into a third party Indy run.
If rfk can give them the finger and walk if the DNC screws him it'll be great, even if he doesn't win against the machine.
Let's not forget though how Bernie was blamed for Clinton losing to Trump. So does that make him a failed pied piper?
Who really knows, but I'd like to hope there was a sincerity in Bernie's cause in 2015. The establishment and MSM mocked him viciously, so it's difficult to believe he was a part of the plan, at least at that stage.
Something definitely changed after his 2nd summons to King Obama. It was downhill ever after. The Political Revolution imploded.
I do think he opened the eyes of a lot of people.
The 2020 campaign was completely lacking, though I did support him. Since then, I have liked him less and less with this being the final insult.
Although I agree with you concerning third party support, I've become so desperate for a crumb of hope. At this point, I'll back RFK, despite his Berniesque comments. There are also some very questionable answers on his list of positions on his website.
Where is a Nadar or Stein to rally behind and give me a reason to be idealistic?
I'm watching Caitlin Johnstone berate people concerning the Tucker Carlson situation. I'm a million miles from being a Tucker fan and I'm still scratching my head on how he became a more rational voice of reason about Ukraine, the jab etc. But Caitlin is going on about him pushing war against China.
She is right to point out the error but the state of affairs is currently so dire, I think it might be better to focus on the good they offer than the negatives.
I used to like "stuck in 2019" Caitlin Johnstone. Now, after her dismissiveness toward critics of the "covid" narrative in all respects -- its scientific truthfulness as an actual real threat; the draconian policies adapted; the true "safety and effectiveness" of the alleged vaccines; the disrespect of actual people harmed by the injections -- as well as her apathy towards the totalitarian lockdown of her own country..... I couldn't give a rats what she says about Tucker Carlson.
I’ve not noticed her write about Covid on either side of line. I had figured it was something that she didn’t want to get embroiled in and was staying focused on politics/empire.
I don't think she wrote much about it, but she did tweet a lot about it.
I am not active on twitter, but I do read them.
Caitlyn lives in Australia and she would not criticize the fascism HER government was doing, and still focused all her energy on the US---which I get, but Australia went kookoo bananas
Exactly. She disses USA (rightly so) a lot about Julian Assange's extradition predicament, but I cannot remember one word of hers against her native Australia that gives him no support (It's been years since I've read her stuff, so I may be wrong, but I just do not recall her criticizing her Oz govt at all, which is definitely off the charts)
Ya think? Australia sent the 2nd largest contingency to fight against the Vietnamese along with their Yankee counterparts. They were considered better 'jungle fighters' because of their experiences decimating Borneo and Malaysia.
I'm sure that's her focus, and she basically has NOT written about it, which, for me, is the point. Especially so from Australia and New Zealand, which had separate "facilities" for the filthy, uh, unvaccinated. I've only seen casual dismissiveness of the importance of the issue, not even casual criticism of any of the mainstream narrative points. I can get info and good commentary on her subjects of interest from others. Oh well, like "genius" Chomsky said, it's not really important who killed JFK.
Talking of people who got it wrong concerning Covid. Chomsky went straight from hero to zero on that front.
I don’t know why Johnstone seems to have remained quiet on Covid. As you say, Australia is a top candidate for becoming an authoritarian hellhole. I can’t really criticize her opinion though, if I don’t know what it is and I’d say being silent on the matter is preferable than being outspoken if going the Chomsky route.
She never wrote an article about it but she berated commenters who pointed out the insanity of the lockdowns, mandates, etc. She was completely on board with it, like alot of so-called "leftists."
"It’s not that vaccine mandates are never justifiable under any circumstances; a sufficiently deadly virus with a sufficiently excellent vaccine could make a solid case that such intrusive measures are necessary. It’s that this particular virus and these particular vaccines don’t make such a case. If you’re going to implement such intrusive, authoritarian measures, you’d better have a very strong argument for doing so. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, that argument simply has not been made.
This doesn’t make me an anti-vaxxer, or even someone who’s necessarily opposed to the idea of all vaccine mandates under all circumstances. It just means in this specific instance it’s pretty clear that governments are wildly overstepping in ways that will lead to further abuses. Universal availability of vaccines is justified, widespread public education is justified, regaining the public’s trust after decades of lies and abuse is certainly justified, but force and coercion is not.
"Everyone has a line at which they believe government mandates would be excessive. Prior to Covid flu-related illnesses were already killing up to 650,000 people a year, but you never heard anyone calling for governments to coerce entire populations into taking flu vaccines. This is not to compare Covid to the flu, it’s to point out that people didn’t believe that level of intrusiveness was justified for dealing with the flu. Others don’t believe it’s justified for the numbers we’re seeing with Covid and with the protections the vaccines provide either."
From Caitlins article in Nov 2021.
The following from Sept 2021. There are others.
"There’s a lot to criticize, from soldiers patrolling state borders and policing the streets of Sydney, to people being arrested for merely posting about lockdown protests on social media, to police accessing QR tracing information and firing projectile weapons at lockdown protesters, to news broadcasters naming and shaming Covid patients who violate isolation orders, to the frequently ineffective hotel quarantine system for travellers being replaced with purpose-built quarantine facilities and Orwellian surveillance apps. The states of both Victoria and New South Wales have begun moving toward reopening after the Delta variant proved zero-Covid goals unattainable even amid strict lockdowns, but will do so by adding Australia to the growing list of nations that have implemented the dangerously authoritarian policy of vaccine passports.
And there are other aspects of this trend which have nothing to do with Covid. One of the most controversial recent developments in Australia’s escalating government overreach (and potentially the most consequential in the long term) has been the hasty passing of a new law greatly expanding government surveillance powers which allows law enforcement to hack into people’s devices and collect, delete, or even add to and alter the data therein, as well as take control of their social media accounts, supposedly “in order to frustrate the commission of serious offences online.”
I would have liked Caitlin to have wrote more often on the subject than she has but I recall a recent piece pointing out that if the lunatics in charge nuke us all, Covid concerns don't really matter. She has a fair point.
She does not understand that Neocon politicians like Hillary and Mccain were two peas in a pod regardless of party politics. Her views are like "The View"
Yeah, my party jumped the shark, as well, that's why they are my former party.
Bernie endorsed all the vaccines and mandates.
I think Jill said that vaccines could cause autism, and she got so much push back, she caves. Also, political cowardice. Even though I don't agree with her, or the Green party, we can still say there was a movement.
Yes, Bernie lost me on the vax mandates issue, which is why I prefer Bernie in the Senate than the Oval Office... but of course would elect him over Biden and Hillary.
Jill Stein is NOT 'all about vaccines'. Her silence would indicate that but her stand on them is quite the contrary. She lost a lot of traction being called an 'antivaxxer' by those who worked against her in 2015. That she stayed mum was a real shame. I would have to see some 'mocking Autism Parents' coming from her mouth to concede that. Sounds far, far-fetched.
And, btw, the Dimocrats I know blamed HER for Hitlery's loss!
Most Dims didn't even know or care about Sanders. When he sh*t the bed in Philadelphia, the Bernie Bros flooded the Green Party and destroyed any chance of having a 3rd party on the ballot. Misogynist pricks.
I heard no 'nasty smears' and, given that this interview was probably 2015- she was right when she said that vaccines and wifi were not front and center in the minds of Amerikans. Anyway...onwards!
Well, it's both sad and frustrating. I supported him in 2016 even writing his name in in 2020. I think Bernie in his heart, was sincere, but unfortunately he's also a pragmatist. The good part in all of this (if there is any) is that he opened a lot of minds. You have to ask if we're better off with or without him and I say his candidacy was worth it in the long run. Hard one to have to swallow, but...
I don't think so---he herded so many into a destructive party. I don't think he's a pragmatist, unless that equates with political coward. I think one good thing is that many of his supporters got discouraged in 2016 and 2020 and left the party--probably not as many as those who got pulled in by his campaigns, though. Anywho, thanks for your input, even though I may mildly disagree.
I wouldn't call him a pragmatist because that would imply that he has had some influence over policy. He has none! He just keeps giving the same lame speeches he's given for years with NO results. $15 an hour anyone? 😂
(who never deliver and always betray) You hit the nail on the head with that one! When talking to a party normie, I always use you and the retro legalization of wire tap without warrant as an example of how fickle the DNC is and how quick they are to use and throw away when you are no longer of any value.
Bernie was such a disappointment in 2020. I wonder how lives with himself after he sold out so many people. They must have something absolutely terrible on him for him to change gears so dramatically.
he broke himself. The Mauritanian. Watch it and you will understand better how torture works. Sanders is a little boy wanting to do whatever authoritarian figures whisper in his ear. I don't know how anyone still supported him after he ignored the outright conspiracy to deny him the nomination, as revealed by Wikileaks. Instead, he buys into "Russia! Russia! Russia!" Thanks!
When I heard of his early endorsement of Biden it confirmed every thought I ever had about him. Fair play great article.
thanks!

Great advice and well heeded! I have gotten off the RFK bus, having seen him pull a Bernie in his tweets today.
yes! Thanks, Laurie!
I refuse to bleed over these equivocators. No mas!
WTF?!
What are you talking about...what pulling a Bernie in his tweets? It's gonna take a lot for me to get off that bus.
Agreed. I was banned from Twitter anyways, so tweets do not decide my vote (or not).
What did he say today?

Ross Perot got the same treatment as Henry Wallace, mocked and scandaled out of the ring by the Bush family.
I watched the debates just because of Ross Perot, he was so awesome.
I didn't vote for him, though, I was still trapped in that duopoly paradigm.
If we could turn back the clock, I'd vote for Perot over Clinton in a flash. Do you think "powers" were behind Perot's embarrassing VP partner?
Yup, I would too. He understood what was happening.
That's true, being independent is not for the faint of heart.
Maybe George Wallace had much more baggage, though.
There's a great documentary about Wallace. He was truly an incredible man. I think the nation turned down another evil road when the dems screwed him out of the VP slot, because you-know-who was nominated and ended up dropping the bomb(s).
I have learned that Wallace was a great man, as well.
Governor George Wallace? Huh?
No, Henry Wallace. George Wallace was an old racist, asshole.
Henry Wallace. Check it out!

"Vote AND Still Die?"
"Vote by Not Voting?"
"Vote for Nobody?"
Yeah, that's a tough one; finding something catchy that illustrates the reasoning behind it, for instance, the Obama administration that promised "hope and change" but gave us "nope and same".
I used this when Oprah threatened to run #NOprah and #NObama was another favorite. How about #NObody? ;)

Yeah, after Chomsky's endorsement of all democrats, his wishing people would starve if they didn't get the vax, disgusted me. Done with him.
Hell, I was done with that dusty Zionist fleabag ages ago. Ages! 911 denier and all...phhhht!

I don’t believe that to be true, the reverse in fact.
Totally agree with you about Caitlin Johnstone... she is extremely unrealistic about American politics, which she preaches about but has not a clue.
Which is interesting to me as she is married to an American and they do podcasts and writing together.
I agree with a lot you say here, but DR. Stein is all about vaccines and mocks Autism Parents

That ship has sailed!
Thank God for Bernie who was "blamed" for Hillary losing to Trump, that means Sanders actually accomplished saving the entire planet then!
