Decades? Elitist colonizers from Europe (France) and bullies from the Empire (US Marines occupied Haiti in 1916) have decimated 'The Pearl'.

Haiti was the first black-governed nation in the western hemisphere; its revolution coinciding nearly with the French and Amerikan revolutions.

With interference from France, the US and others- infighting eventually brought Haiti to its knees.

Now- Haiti is one of the poorest if not THE poorest countries in the western hemisphere in spite of the fact that significant gas and oil fields lay offshore. (Oil too, may be? I forget.)

So much to this horrible, gut-wrenching history.

The sleazy, thieving Clinton Foundation has been scamming and cheating Haiti for some time now. Hitlery's brother something Rodham- acquired leases to gold mines.

I am too tired to go into this at the moment but there have been a few great books written on the history of Haiti.

The US has been robbing Haiti forever. Those folks never stood a chance.

Of course you are correct, but isn't the smaller unit of number included in the larger number? We are trying to expose the crimes, not support them.

We do talk about a lot of this in the video, which, I don't think you've had time to watch.

Sorry, the "decades" comment made you angry, it wasn't my intention.

Also, sorry you are so tired and hope you are feeling okay.

I'm not angry- certainly not at you guys. I just get so verklempt when these issues come up again and again. I am more sad and disappointed than angry, really. But please understand that in my own feeble way, I so respect and support you both for keeping the fires of anti-Imperialism burning bright. I promise I will watch your presentation. 💟✊

If you've noticed, when I try and quantify the number of civilians killed in iraq, I say, "hundreds of thousands," some people retort with "millions." Which is probably true, but not easily verified. Hundreds of thousands are included in millions, and is a horrific number. Certainly Haitians did a good thing with their slave revolt and it's devastating what has happened to them since then. We love you! <3

Haiti is a showcase of what Cuba would have become if the Bay of Pigs invasion had succeeded and Cuba is a showcase of what Haiti could be if the USA would have left it alone.

After reading Island Beneath the Sea by Isabelle Allende, I wept for weeks for Haiti. I understand Bonnie's tiredness - how many of these stories can we stomach before we are literally ill? I have never been so ashamed of America as the past 3 decades, starting with Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, to living in a foreign country and seeing the devastation wrought by soulless western imperialism, mixed in with ignorant western entitlement. Thank you for continuing to educate. We need to take a good hard look at ourselves in the mirror and grow up.

please be aware that Jeremy Corbyn is a misogynist who believes that it is ok for men (if they feel like it) to be in women's spaces. note that California agrees with this and so is putting men (if they "feel like women") into women's prisons where they are raping women. this is not to mention the destruction of children by the "doctors" and "teachers" who are in support of giving children puberty blockers, et. al.

Did we talk about him? I am not a fan of Corbyn, but I am tired of always shitting on everybody.

I have principles and high standards, and I expect other to do so, as well.

I oppose men in women's spaces and the destruction of children. I am hoping we have a bit of a turning around this issue.

Vans and Converse are insanely expensive here too. Electricity is gettin crazy and so is heating fuel. Theyre giving us rebates and cost of living increases which only makes me think we are really gonna get screwed this winter big time. They wont give anything they wont be taking back. Shit is crazy.

Growing up in South Florida, I was always aware of the disparity of treatment between Cuban and Haitian refugees... Haitians would come ashore after floating on rafts for days, be humanely hospitalized, and then summarily shipped back to their despotic country even though political asylum was clearly warranted. Honestly, I've lost track of Haiti's dictators and disasters, it is all just a chaotic blur for decades. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCdA5XcKbUo&t=635s PS While my Dad was in hospitals several times this past year before he went to heaven, I was always relieved when I found out if any of his nurses were Haitian. I do not know where they are trained or if they are exceptionally compassionate due to their national background or just thrilled to pieces to be living and working in Florida, but Haitian nurses have a particularly personal touch of humanity. One of the nurses had same last name as Dad, which reminded her of her Haitian father, so she called him "Papa" which just pleased him beyond words :)
