I live in a suburb adjacent to Philadelphia (PA). I'll suppress, with difficulty, the urge to repeat the full version of my final "fooled again" participation in electoral politics. Here's the condensed version, just to set up a passing observation:
In 2006, during the congressional campaign season, the Democratic Party of Judas blew steam from its nostrils and pawed the ground impatiently; its party spokespersons and candidates insisted that if We the People would just give them the chance, they would roar out of the gate and bring righteous justice down upon the warmongering Bush regime.
At the time, I liked Glenn Greenwald, who despite his critical stance on electoral politics promoted the (shopworn) proposal that the only way to bring down the warmongering and corrupt Dubya Bush regime was to elect "more and better Democrats". I actually suspended my cynicism and accordingly donated to a few recommended "progressive" Democrats who promised to aggressively undo the depredations of the Bush regime.
When the Dems got their landslide, their leaders lost no time in announcing that: 1) impeachment is "off the table" (Pelosi), and 2) Mr. Bush will get all the funding he requests for the Iraq War (Reid). That experience finished off my conflicted "work within the system" participation.

There's a house a few doors down from me that displays all of the Democratic prog-lib signage du jour, e.g. "Black Lives Matter", "Hate Has No Home Here", etc. Not surprisingly, there's also a "Biden/Harris 2020" sign that was left in place after the victory.
Anyway, the other day (after the "debate"), I was strolling down to the shopping center around the corner and noticed that this sign had been moved-- now it's prominently displayed a few feet in front of the others. At first I did a double-take; I mistook it as a new 2024 sign, and wondered if the Democratic machine had rapidly distributed it to confirm that they're sticking with the Biden/Harris dynamic duo.
