My new-old friend Mickey Z has a Substack he’s called “Post-Woke” (check it out).
Although, due to circumstances, we were not connected for a few years, we re-connected during the Covid-scam (yes, there was an illness and yes it was exploited for maximum profit to as few people as possible, with the pain being spread out amongst the working-class) and found out we had similar trajectories.
We both have been no-platformed, de-platformed, or canceled for various positions we took that deviate from the Woke-i-ness nursery school understanding of current events and history..
The roots of #WOKE go back to the early days of the BLM movement, (which disintegrated rapidly to #VoteBlue and buy mansions) as far as I can tell—-so black people would never forget the entrenched racism of the USA—-as if thy could.
The #WOKE seem to believe that every problem with the U.S. began with Trump, not that Trump was the fulfillment of their years of being not AWAKE. To say their understanding is shallow is an insult to puddles.
I asked Mickey to send me his definition of “Woke.”
I first became aware of “woke” from the 2008 Erykah Badu song, “Master Teacher.” It seemed to me to be an African-American thing — slang for self-aware. I started using it conversationally in 2014 when Black Lives Matter began. I was still hanging out with some remnants of Occupy and we naturally latched onto BLM as the next step in the alleged process. Being woke was a compliment — a sign that you had learned from past mistakes and were “intersectional” now and thus (if you were an older white dude like me) ready to surrender the microphone.
As I stepped back from being high-profile, I watched in horror as “woke” rapidly showed its true colors. It’s a cult. Being woke is being cowed into pre-programmed language and even thoughts. Say the “wrong” thing and you’ll be canceled. Someone who often said “wrong” things is protested and if possible, censored. This meant everyone from celebrities to college professors to everyday street activists.
Predictably, the trans ideologues swooped in to co-opt “woke” faster than you could say “black trans lives matter.” Perceived opponents were blacklisted, threatened, and sometimes physically attacked. Fake statistics, fake news, and new-found pandemic virtue signaling fueled the madness — resulting in the spectacle of woke activists being allowed to protest in cities that were otherwise locked down. Facts became obsolete and social media joyfully fed the frenzy.
I started Post-Woke as a space where I could view the world without the distorted lens of what has become of the “left.”
This is how, I, as Awake see racism:
First of all, I don’t think the Obama regime solved “racism” as many #Woke-i-nesses do. I also don’t think Trump re-created it.
When Obama was POTUS, there was ample opportunity for him to use his black Attorney General Eric Holder (whose work before and after his stint as AG involves defending big pharma from billion dollar law suits) and DOJ to prosecute killer cops who relentlessly murdered unarmed black men (among others). In my opinion, Obama abandoned the young black people who were excited to vote for him and see him ascend to the Imperial Throne as he proved himself to be an Able Servant of Empire and Capitalism. The US government, its agencies, and bureaucracies are so racist, there’s a trickle down effect. The only “attack” by those #WOKEsters on the generational racism that has been present in the US since the beginning, was taking down statues and changing names of schools and airports—the WOKE-i-nessers cheered, the AWAKE groaned, but of course that made us #Racists, or #Trumpers.
To the WOKEsters, it is treasonous to dare suggest that the 2020 election was tampered with, but the height of patriotism to claim that Putin stole the 2016 election from Clinton, no matter if taunting Russia illegitimately is the defition of “poking a bear.” To us who are AWAKE, and not #WOKE, we know that the electoral process here in the U.S. is, and has forever been, deeply flawed with BILLIONS being raised in each cycle. Follow the money, my honeys—-that’s one of the mantras of the AWAKE. If we follow the money on almost every issue, the trail often leads back to the same few people.
The problem with WOKEsters and the privileged political pundit pukeheads is that they barely scratch the surface of any issue. If what is happening in Ukraine were buried in a thousand foot hole, the above mentioned would only be about 1/4 inch deep by now in their #WOKE “analysis.” Everyone with a Ukrainian flag in their social media platforms, may as well tatoo, “I’m a Doofus” on their foreheads.
To those of us who are Awake and not #WOKE, we know that the U.S. has long provoked the Soviet Union, and then Russia after US/NATO meddling destroyed the USSR, among other things. If those #WOKEs knew recent history, they would remember that the U.S. basically funded the Maidan uprising and encouraged Kiev to be more hostile towards Russia. After 2014, the Nazis in Kiev began to systematically exterminate Russian speakers in the Donbass Region and to make gestures towards joining NATO. So, Vladimir Putin didn’t just wake up one day in March and say, “I’m bored, I think I’ll invade Ukraine.” The mantra of the #WOKE was “Punch a Nazi” until the Biden regime started sending Nazis billions of dolars.
WOKEsters seem to wake up every morning and think, “I have to log-on to Instagram, or Twitter to find out what I need to be #WOKE and outraged about today.”
There are so many examples of ridiculous WOKE-i-ness behavior, but one of my favorites was when they all adored AOC for wearing a gown to a very expensive and exclusive gathering in NYC that said something like “Tax the Rich” when the #WOKE cultists also worship, obey, and elevate those same “rich” people. Being AWAKE means that we recognize the institutional imperative is that EVERYTHING in the USA supports the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Taxing the rich wouldn’t even put a 1/4 inch dent in their nursery school “analysis” of the problem. The “middle-class” WOKEsters have an intuition that any prohibition on wealth hurts them as well. Ask any starving person on the street what we should really do with all those scoundrels!
This is my definition of being “AWAKE” and not #WOKE.
As a Cold-War Baby who grew up during the Vietnam War, I was kind of in a Twilight Sleep by the time by son Casey joined the Army in 2000. I believed that the USA often did horrible things, but, more often than not, had good-ish intentions.
After 9/11, before Casey was killed in Iraq on 04/04/04, things around that day didn’t make sense to me: why were those planes allowed to crash? Why weren’t they intercepted? Where was Bush all day? Why was the bin Laden family quickely shepherded out of the country? How did people on those planes make cell-phone calls? Why did Bush tell us a few days afterwards that he didn’t want to hear “any crazy conspiracy theories” about the tragedy? So many unanswered questions up to this day.
If I was in my Twilight Sleep on the evening of 04/04/04, I got the rudest and most painful of AWAKE-inings when two Army officers came to my door to tell me that my son had been KIA in Iraq!
After that, I have never been able to go back to sleep and no matter how bad things seem, I follow the trail to the #Truth—even when it makes me a pariah in my own family, or community.
Being AWAKE means going to trusted sources, that don’t profit off of the Military Industrial Complex or Big pHARMa, or captured media that spewes (mis)(mal)(dis)information. It means a deep-dive into real history, not the “Sanitized for Our Protection” kind taught in U.S. schools and universities—-it’s not about “intersectionality,” but worker-solidarity: even those workers we may not agree with 100%
AWAKE means that we can see the intentionality of the divisions that the government and other 1% a$$hole$ want to place on the working-class. If we hate each other, and bicker with each other, then they are more free to literally rob us blind, or bomb others to the “stone-ages.” It’s the same thing they do to the countries they bomb: Divide and conquer—until someone fights back.
If groups care more about their pronouns than struggling against all of humanity’s true enemies, they are #WOKE and #USELESS.
If groups care more about getting Democrats elected than peace, health, equality, environmental sustainability, education, housing, and safety—-then they are also #WOKE and #USELESS.
Observationally, it seems the #WOKE are satisfied with lapping up the crumbs of the enemy and not even slightly rocking the stinking/sinking-boat.
The #WOKE on the right want to make America “great” again, when it’s always been a $hithole of oligarchical decay.
AWAKE with me and let’s be #USEFUL.
A better world is possible.

Thanks, Cat!
Cindy, you are my shero. I truly wish I could be there with you and help you and fight for you. Thank you for your relentless pursuit of the truth in the face of incredible adversity. So grateful there are people like you. I love Helen Keller's quote: "Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it. My optimism, then, does not rest on the absence of evil, but on a glad belief in the preponderance of good and a willing effort always to cooperate with the good, that it may prevail." With people like you in the world, I believe that we will prevail.
My story about trans ideology: I started questioning the trans ideology in 2015, after my best girlfriend decided she was a 'man', and had her breasts removed at 45 and lost her marriage, children and home. Soon after I got kicked off Twitter and Medium for having the audacity to say 'Maybe people who are trans should seek mental health professionals before making the decision to mutilate themselves.'
In December of 2020 I got kicked off Facebook for saying "Maybe the 50,000 medical professionals who've signed on to the Great Barrington Declaration have a point. Protect the vulnerable and let the rest of the world get on with their lives." I was called a eugenicist and reported and some of my best friends stopped speaking to me.
It's a mystery to me how people can be so trusting of governments, corporations and institutions with their lives and health after so many news reports, despite the censorship, that have shown these to be anything but benign. I didn't really appreciate the pervasiveness and power of propaganda and censorship until it happened to me.
My wake up call discovering the illusion of our so-called civilized culture was the financial meltdown in 2008 when my clients stopped paying me. I'm sorry I didn't questions things much sooner, because there were clues throughout my life. But until you are personally affected, it's all too easy to stay asleep.
I think everyone living comfortably in our western cultures is in for a massive financial, emotional, physical shock and they won't be ready. It's impossible to prepare for what's coming no matter how bad you realize things are and how much prepping you do. I think the Hunger Games series was predictive programming making us psychologically primed to accept the inevitability of our dystopian future as if there were no other option.
I find the most painful part of all of this experience BY FAR is the fact that the people you love and wish to protect and defend will often turn their backs on you as you frantically try to explain with mountains of data and real science that things are not as they've been told. Then, you have to stand by and watch as their health is destroyed, their jobs and homes are lost, they lose a loved one suddenly, or not so suddenly. It's like living in a nightmare where you cannot wake up.
My son, 41 years old, unmarried, no children, was forced to get the jab to keep his job. So, now it's a waiting game to see if he'll take another one or start experiencing health issues. I lay awake at night terrified for my family and friends - some awake, most not. It's difficult to move through my days and stay motivated. My children and granddaughter keep me going.
My experience with cancer, twice, was a living lesson in how deceitful the pharma industry is. I declined the conventional treatment both times I was diagnosed. I had surgery both times and I'm perfectly fine today. My older sister was left disabled 10 years before from her chemo/radiation. My younger sister, also diagnosed twice at the same time as I was, passed away from her chemo/radiation treatment. The kicker? She was forced to do the conventional therapy or her employer (Lockheed Martin) would not give her disability income. Nice way to get rid of employees with health risks so you don't have to pay their pension, right?!
So in her memory, I tell my sister Michelle's story to remind people that the cancer industry, like the government, military, pharma corporations and other institutions do not care about you or me. They care only about money and power. it's a difficult thing to have to wake up to, but we must be the adults in the room. Our descendants will curse our name if we fail.
