His defense of Israel, and also his affiliation with the Democratic Party, is truly bizarre. Does he actually think the Democrats are going to fall in love with him because he grovels at the altar of Zionism? Is he starting to believe he is going to become president? 🤔

He thought they already lived him. He was so hurt at the censorship hearings that they were mean to him!

But they've been smearing him for years. Even his own phony relatives. How can he live in a world like that?

I always thought he was an intelligent guy, (except for endorsing Hillary and Biden) but this behavior is really off the wall. I can't figure out if he's being controlled by his wife and her Hollywood cronies or it's full-on AIPAC.

I just don't understand what he thinks he stands to gain by this. The Democrat party don't give a rat's a** what he believes or thinks on the subject, mainly because of his views on the covid "plandemic" and Ukraine, they are going to do all they can to keep him from getting the nomination. And as well-read and informed as RFK Jr is, I find it hard to believe he doesn't know the real history of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Sadly, it proves once again that each and every politician's soul has a price, just name the right one.

Expand full comment

RFKjr certainly paid the price. A Palestinian assassinated his father due to I/P politics!

And it changed America forever. I know it changed me, I loved Bobby Kennedy.

He believes another conspirator's gun was involved in his father's murder too.

In spite of everything that has traumatized him, RFKjr met and listened to Sirhan Sirhan. He forgave him and wants Sirhan paroled.

RFKjr believes in all humanity and compassion. These qualities are what guide his soul.

https://www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/openforum/article/Robert-F-Kennedy-Jr-Sirhan-Sirhan-didn-t-16686114.php

'My father had a pious Catholic’s belief in redemption, forgiveness and justice. His favorite quote, from Aeschylus, urged that we should “tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of the world.” By upholding the parole board’s decision to release Sirhan, Newsom has the opportunity to demonstrate the humanity, compassion and idealism of our justice system to which my father devoted his life.'

Sirhan Sirhan did not assassinate his father.

I'll agree to disagree with you.

Even if there was another conspirator there that day, Sirhan was (at the very least) an attempted assassin.

Kathy, With respect, Cindy is right. Not even RFKJr believes SS killed his father. The evidence is overwhelming here. Disagree all you like. But it doesn't alter the reality. My advice: Do more research!

Expand full comment

Yes, I am aware of the conspiracy of a second shooter. RFKjr never said Sirhan is innocent. He said that the bullet that killed his father was from a second shooter. I was alive when this happened, there were dozens of witnesses, many still alive. Sirhan's bullets injured other people too. Sirhan was caught red-handed with his gun after he shot it. I am open-minded about conspiracy of more than one shooter, but the fact remains Sirhan Sirhan was an active shooter that day.

But the real point is that RFKjr has the capacity for compassion and humanity for Palestinian cause obviously since he forgave Sirhan Sirhan and wants him paroled.

I may have already put in my 2¢ on the question of why RFK Jr.* persists in expressing his reactionary Zionist stance, but unfortunately there's no way to keep track of Substack comments that I know of.

* Point of order: the living RFK is indeed nominally a "Junior", but it's annoying and tiresome to have to add that "Jr." all the time when it's obvious that we're not referring to his deceased father. I don't want to be the only one to do it, but I wish or hope that at some point sooner than later we just use "RFK" when the context is obvious that it's "Junior".

_______________________________

Maybe my guess is just too simplistic, but it may well be that RFK may not think, or realize, that he's "doubling down" or going out of his way to flog his abysmal Zionist perspective. He may simply be telling it like it is (as he sees it, obviously).

Yes, it's an ultra-politicized topic, but I don't think he necessarily is hyping it for the sake of perceived political gain. Nor do I think he's been bribed or co-opted to become a virtual Hasbara proselytizer.

Once again, I offer an "anecdotal" comparison or parallel: I have a close relative, X., now 73, who is highly intelligent and educated, and a polyglot. In most areas, he's politically sophisticated, skeptical, and long ago rejected conventional mass-media as a source of information and analysis. He's the only fellow scamdemic-skeptic and resister in my small and dwindling nuclear family, and we often agree on sociopolitical issues despite my more "radical" perspective.

But, perhaps because he's also a devout Roman Catholic, when it comes to Israel X. hews to the unctuous pop-culture script we acquired in parochial school in the early 1960s. I won't repeat it all, but it's the standard postwar narrative that Israel was a much-needed and deserved refuge for Holocaust victims, is the only "democracy" in the Middle East, albeit a still-persecuted "underdog", etc.

Apart from championing Israel's "right to exist", X. still sentimentally thinks of Israel as the "Holy Land". I didn't know all this until just a couple of years ago, when I shared a video expressing criticism of Israel as a colonial settler-state, and linking Israeli intelligence and plutocrats to the events of September 11, 2001.

X. was indignant and horrified. Incredibly, he actually claimed that he'd never heard the term "Zionist" used as a pejorative before. "What is all this 'Zionist'business?" he asked angrily. "Doesn't 'Zionist' just mean someone who believes that Israel deserves to be a state?".

To me, there was such a contrast to his usual thoughtful and well-informed views that it was as if he'd just swallowed extra-strength Stupid Pills; X.'s mindset and attitude toward Israel, as noted, is pure unreconstructed public-relations glurge that seemed to emerge from a time capsule, unaffected by real-world events in the ensuing decades.

Anecdotal, I know, but although I can't abide listening to much of RFK's appalling perspective, the quality and "vibe" is exactly, EXACTLY, like X. I'm certainly not excusing it, but I think it's possible that, like X., he is so wedded to this familiar sanitized view that he persists out of sheer cranio-rectal inversion because he thinks his abysmal perspective is commonsensical and correct. 🤔🤨

But to support safety for Jewish people does not mean terrorizing Palestinians, of course, and treating them the way Jewish people were treated in 1930s Germany. Recognizing humanity on both sides is clearly what is needed.

RFK, Jr. doubling down on this issue saddens me for many reasons. I have researched much about the Israeli and Palestinian issue and I concur with Max Blumenthal. Max's book "Management of Savagery" exposes much about the MIC It prompts another memory as my high school graduation ceremony was interrupted by the announcement that RFK had been killed just a few hundred miles away. RFK,Jr. appears to be a sheepdog for the DNC to me. Beginning to recognizing them earlier.

I was ten when RFK was killed. I was about 10 miles away. My mom had worked in the polls that day and she came home and woke me up to tell me. It was SOO hot that June night in LA County. The next day, our favorite after school cartoon host Hobo Kelly had a very subdued show. She just sat in her chair and played cartoons without antics. I was in first grade when JFK was killed and our teacher's daughter came out to tell us. I was standing by the jungle gym.

I am devastated that RFK is running for president and, even though the more I see him, the less he appeals to me, I am also shocked he gets no secret service protection, even though it didn't help, and maybe harmed, JFK.

I remember it vividly too. I was 13, and had gotten up early for choir practice. I heard it on TV and told my parents as soon as they got up. They were Democrats, so were very shocked and upset. I also remember my mother telling me she was at an exercise class when the instructor announced that MLK had been assassinated, and one of the women in the class started applauding, which totally shocked my mother. I couldn't believe anyone would do such a thing either.

The most important documented book on the subject is "JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why it Matters" by James Douglass. Hundreds of thousands of copies sold. The second best book I've read is by the then-20 year old brilliant mistress of Mr. Oswald, called "Me and Lee." They both admired JFK and behind the scenes were trying to find ways to prevent the impending assassination.

Sounds like RFK Jr's thinking of switching to the Evangelical pro-Zionist Revival Party if this DNC thing doesn't work out. Maybe he should apply for Israeli citizenship and run for President there? Of course, Israel is probably the most vaxxed and boosted political entity on the planet. At least he didn't start rolling around and speaking in tongues on the Jimmy Dore Show during his Israel First rant. Not to be mean, but maybe he should enroll in a 12-step program for his Zionism addiction?

Sadly, Husseini fell for the lab leak false dichotomy. The lab leak story just reinforces future fear about pandemics and promotes future vaccines.

RFK Jr.'s remarks about Israel are very dismaying and he has very questionable ties to the global technocrat criminals as Alison McDowell ably documents in Wrench in the Gears. BUT, he's saying crucial truths that must be said and heard by the public that no other prominent political figure is saying. He is by far the best prospect out there and his family/fame gives him cred that the most virulent corporate propaganda media cannot censor completely short of doing to him what was done to his father and uncle and if THAT unspeakable happens, We the People will know whodunnit!

they are censoring him, though, and making us "conspiracy theorists" look even worse--not him, the media.

It's truly disappointing that RFK Jr. has allowed himself to be taken HOSTAGE by the Chabad CULT and BIG ZIONISM (the Sheldon Adelson organization). If there were ANY US Presidential Candidate that were any less obsequious to the Zionist-Apartheid State and that voting bloc - then this would be a real deal-breaker.

However - there ISN'T a candidate like that, save perhaps for Cornel West. And where is HE, on the MANDATORY LETHAL INJECTIONS?

At the end of the day - I'll probably choose to support a Candidate with some remote chance of winning the DNCIA Nomination, at least in the primary, and then work to educate him better on this one particular issue (on which he undoubtedly SUCKS). https://imgflip.com/i/7tzoto
