I hope he sues the shit out of the U.S. and the U.K.

Unfortunately, they forced (tortured) Julian into accepting a guilty plea,

in order to go free.

That probably “frees” them from liability,

for their depravity.

I hope that I’m mistaken.

We shall have to wait and see.

I like your poem, but yeah. I probably would have pled guilty as well to stop the torture.

We all know the thing.

I’m just glad that he’s goin’ home, on his feet, instead of in a pine box.

Celebration day at my place!!!

I’ve been waitin’ (not prayin’) and hopin’ for this for years.

As an idealistic idealist, this outcome isn’t ideal.

But, it’s really finally real.

He’s goin’ home to his wife, his child, his family and friends.

The death watch is ended, at long last.

It’s deeply personal for me.

I know that you know what that means, Cindy.

Bless your big heart, and your big mouth.

Helps keep my world from goin’ south.

He looks puffy, but happy.

Been there.

Done that.

Freedom, and fresh air, and fun, and family, and fine food will fix the “puffiness”.

He has a lot on his mind, no doubt, and he will be required to repay the Australian government $502k US for the cost of the private jet.

That's a lot of stress on a jabbed man's heart.

They jabbed him in Belmarsh.

I hope he doesn't die suddenly from unexpected heart issues.

What they did to him was itself criminal and they could do that to any journalist or publisher. He committed no crime--unlike our President and the Presidents before him. They used their crimes against Assange to set an example of their plans for any journalist telling the truth. I'm glad he's out of prison, but I don't trust them or their promises. He needs protection. I hope he lives a long and happy life..

Good points!

Was he forced to get the clot shot at any point? that’s an important factor in this one would think.

do prisoner's have the right to refuse?

Expand full comment

I think everyone has the right to refuse under the Nuremberg Code if nothing else, but prisoners rights are violated all the time. Not sure what the prison's policy is. Most likely mandates for all inmates and workers.

Yes, he was.

That's the word from the trenches.

We must remember to regard whatever Assange says now with a critical eye.

Nobody, *nobody* gets a free pass.

The transnational deep state is capable of anything, we know that by now.

I always use my critical/cynical eye.

I was never fully onboard with Assange, anyway, but, I was also very opposed to his persecution.

Expand full comment

Just curious why you weren't fully on board. He exposed many crimes, which is what journalists are supposed to do, and was persecuted for it. I've read throughout the years that he was a CIA patsy but that makes no sense to me...

Yes. I agree. I moved in the same circles and I would rather not stay. Especially on this good day.

Iversen continuously whispering “shocking” was starting to make solitary confinement not seem so bad.

It’s disgusting that he had to plead guilty for freedom but in all honesty, given the chance, I’d have done it years ago in preference to what he has had to endure.

So the guy that exposed war crimes has to admit to have committed a crime while the criminals he exposed continues to murder people, what a great day for justice, may the war criminals all burn in hell! 😐

I hope he doesn't help expose our election fraud again! Never thought I would live to see him free. There is a God!!!

I've been wondering for a long time what country he might be safe in when he got out, if any. Australia is subservient to the U.S. Maybe this deal means the U.S. has decided they sqeezed all they can from him. But if he goes back to work.... maybe Russia is the only country both willing and able to have him.

Amen sister.

I know he's not home yet, and the USA has an horrendous history of breaking promises, but all eyes are watching. I know we will all issue a huge sigh of relief when he is safe in Australia (let's hope he isn't flying on Boeing) and applaud a victory. I have read a few accounts from attorneys and Kim Iverson is wrong--this is not precedent-setting. He accepted a plea deal only. Can we all celebrate this one victory once he is home, and then energize for all the fights ahead?

Assange is a heroic champion of free speech and the free press!

I am a FREE SPEECH absolutist! All the censorship out there is pure evil!

Without freedom of speech and expression, there is nothing but a 'boot stamping on your face forever', total tyranny and slavery! Free speech must be protected and preserved at all costs!
