Cindy, I've told you this before, but I admire you so much for continuing to advocate for peace. You know better than the average person just how senseless and tragic all war is. God bless you for being such a profile in courage.
This takes me back to a bittersweet day, it's when doors opened and people came out to exclaim their anger in a war that should of never been... it brought lifelong friendships together to now stand on ground to proclaim sadly, we were right from the beginning, our government has turned into a psychopathic killing machine...As we were right then, we are right today in how our own murderous government has brought the hens home to roost...as we had warned....In the form of a mRna bioweapon... yes the governments lust for murder is real... as we stood there over 20 years ago that there were NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ, we stand here sadly to tell you, the weapons of mass destruction were in WASHINGTON DC THE WHOLE TIME... yes our government was & is a psychopathic nightmare that eventually will only satisfy its hunger by destroying anything of self....
Same fight as 20 years ago, just different battlefield...
"If you are thinking of enlisting in Trump’s military, with all the pending conflicts, or you know someone who is, I would urge you to think about it, re-think about it, then think some more—and, then, DON’T DO IT!" I have not known a single person who has not been harmed, often permanently, by going to "war" for this country. In fact men and women go to war to make the wealthiest of their country even more obscenely rich. PTSD, brain trauma, loss of family or friends or buddies in the "war" as well. We need to change the word war to the phrase profiteering death. It is very good, however, in your case, Cindy, to know that after all you and your family has endured, you are thriving.
Thank you for sharing something so personal, albeit heart wrenching to read.
I feel fortunate that my own awakening to the futility of war came without such devastating personal loss.
Young and stupid, I was 17 when the UK went to war with Argentina over the Falkland Islands. I was all "Go get those Argie bastards".
It was not much over a year later, that I watched a documentary about Simon Weston who sustained horrific burns, when the ship he was on got bombed.
An hour later, I was thinking that the war had not been worth just that one man's misery, let alone the rest of the horror that went down.
The only sad part was that he continued to claim it was worth it. I understand the need to tell oneself this to get through, but I wish more had your courage Cindy, to face and share the truth.
Thank you so much for sharing Casey with us once again, Cindy. The hurt never goes away. It might become manageable for siblings - losing my father in an AF aircraft was devastating enough - but for a mother, I can barely imagine. Love you.

aw, thanks, friend!

War
Edwin Starr
(War) h'uh
Yeah!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin) uh-huh, uh-huh
(War) h'uh
Yeah!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it again, y'all
(War) h'uh (h'uh) look out!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me
Ooh war, I despise
'Cause it means destruction of innocent lives
War means tears, to thousands of mother's eyes
When their sons go off to fight and lose their lives
I said, war (h'uh)
Good God, y'all!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin') 'gin
Say it, again
(War) whoa (h'uh) whoa-whoa, Lord
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me!
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker!
(War)
Friend only to the undertaker
Ooh, war
Is an enemy to all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction, then destruction
Who wants to die?
Ooh war, Good God (h'uh) y'all!
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it, say it, say it
(War)
Woah-h'uh (h'uh) yeah uh
(What is it good for?)
(Absolutely) nothin'
Listen to me
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
(War)
It's got one thing and that's the undertaker
Ooh, war
Has shattered many a-young man's dreams
Made him disabled, bitter, and mean
And life is much too short and precious
To spend fighting wars each day
War can't give life
It can only take it away
Oh, war!
(H'uh) Good God, y'all
(What is it good for?)
Absolutely (nothin')
Say it, again
(War)
Whoa (h'uh) whoa-whoa, Lord
(What is it good for?)
A-absolutely (nothin')
Listen to me!
(War)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
(War)
Friend only to the undertaker
Woo!
Peace, love and understanding tell me
Is there no place for anything else?
They say we must fight
To keep our freedom
But Lord, knows there's got to be
A better way
Oooh
(War)
God, y'all! (uh)
(What is it good for?)
You tell 'em! (h'uh)
Say it, say it, say it
(War)
Good God (h'uh) now, h'uh
(What is it good for?)
Stand up and shout it
(Nothin'!)

Cindy, your DON’T is excellent advice for all considering enlisting.
We are present, too!
