Coffee has been a part of my life since I was about four. My mother, a daughter of the Great Depression, seemed to survive on coffee and cigarettes. Anyway, when my sister, brother, and I were very young, we would sit on the couch while my mom prepared our “boppy.” Mama would put milk and sugar in a cup and pour a little coffee into it. We toddlers seriously could not start our morning without our boppy.
My ex-husband, with all of our faults together, was a wise man and he knew that if he brought me boppy in bed, our mornings would be a lot easier. Coffee is a social event as well, and many first dates begin with the people meeting for coffee.
For about the past 5-6 years, I have started every morning with mushroom blended coffee that was first fused in Finland, where tea made with mushroom tonic is common. The founders of the company Four Sigmatic (What does Four Sigmatic Mean? These are the most elite foods in the world aka the most nutrient dense and most studied superfoods. Coffee, green tea, reishi, chaga, blueberry, moringa, turmeric, lion's mane, pumpkin and cordyceps are all Four Sigmatic foods. The term comes from a statistical map of all foods).
By the time I got hooked on Four Sigmatic coffee, tonics, and protein powder, I had grown tired of my coffee routine in the morning and I had a sour stomach from it. Four Sigmatic happily revived my coffee ritual. One cup in the morning, with a little mushroom tonic powder, cacao (another anti-oxidant), and collagen powder start my day well. Although the coffee is caffeinated, I never get the jitters, and I feel it rehydrates me from my sleep, gives me energy, and clears the brain fog.
FYI: I am not paid by Four Sigmatic for this post, but once I made a favorable comment on one of their facebook ads and they sent me a can of their protein powder. Besides having one of the only products that I can enthusiastically endorse, they are a great company with a very responsive customer service. If you like your morning boppy, but not the after effects, check them out.
Since Wednesday morning, while whatever made me sick was being dramatically processed out of my body, a lot of very concerning things have occurred around the world, but to get myself stronger, I don’t want to focus on those things, right now. Quantumly, I didn’t observe them, so, for the time being, they didn’t happen. Is that how being a blue pill NPC works?
I will start to get up today and get back into life, but I really have little but my health, which is very precious to me. I will be back to my feisty-fighting caliber soon. I know you all have missed my cogent commentary and acerbic wit (lol—just kidding for people who have no sense of humor).

Dang right we miss our Cindy Funnies, however YOUR HEALTH IS FIRST (so glad you're self-aware)!
On another note, I have learned (the hard way) that vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements and even superfoods need to be used with caution too. For instance, bananas and Lisinopril made my Dad's potassium levels dangerously high (of course I blame the pHARMa pill not the natural thing). And I recently found out that Turmeric supplements are phytoestrogens, so as an estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer survivor, I should avoid them. Then other studies say that natural Turmeric spice prevents breast cancer in Asian women!!!(so I most likely got the cancer in the first place from something unnaturally manmade like the unorganic hormonal beef I was eating ravenously at the time... I know better now). Therefore I have started to research supplements as much as pHARMa, especially their interactions if any. Wouldn't it be nice if there were not so many manmade environmental causes of diseases, then the supplements and superfoods could just do their deficiency preventions as intended in the first place
Wishing you well and back on your fighting feet soon! So sorry to hear you had food poisoning. I had it when I was dating my spouse - back about 45 years ago. I ate a pork chop at a local restaurant. The next few days were a blur of vomit, fatigue, and sleep. I have been vegan since 1/1/15 but the food is, as you say, still crap, so supplements are a must!. Peace and hugs.
