I totally agree with you. I'm smacking my head that anyone dare act indignant at the Roe decision (which, incidentally, will not change legal access to abortion for the majority of women in the majority of circumstances-- Reason.com wrote a good piece summarizing this) when in the last year, bodily autonomy was not only unceremoniously stripped away via vaccine mandates but actually cheered on by most the same people crying "my body, my choice" now. And they don't even see it.
You're absolutely right that neither major party nor the government in general gives a rip about women-- or anyone, really. There are countless examples, as you point out. The refusal to really let that sink in is at the heart of why these controversies live on, which both parties use as convenient tools of political manipulation.
The US government is a corrupt, mafia-like organization that cannot be changed by voting either Dem or Repub, and our sovereign leaders will not allow any 3rd political party to become viable. The malevolent, 2-party dictatorship is the insurmountable problem.
Hi John---I think the USG is surmountable, but there is very little political courage to do so. Rhetorical question: How many reading this, or commenting, would go and vote for a 3rd party, or independent in November. To me, that is such a very low-risk action, but when people get into the place to mark their ballots, they freeze and go for the "lesser of two evils." How can we summon the courage to do what really needs to be done?
My dearest Cindy, my first presidential campaign was for JFK in 1960. The Deep State shot my president in 1963. I became an antiwar activist after my return from Viet-Nam in 1971. Then, Eugene McCarthy, RFK, George McGovern, Dennis Kucinich, Jesse Jackson, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, Jill Stein, Occupy Wall Street, BLM, etc, were all crushed by the 2-party dictatorship. My last antiwar activism was with you at Camp Casey. I have given up on the US political system and the brainwashed sheeple (it's not their fault, I too was brainwashed before Viet-Nam shattered my worldview). If and when 500,000 people occupy Washington DC and refuse to leave until demands are met, I will be there with them. Anything else is just blowing in the wind. Until then, I put my efforts into helping the homeless people in my community and sending money to the orphanages in Viet-Nam. I support all activists who fight the good fight, against our sovereign leaders, by any means necessary, win, lose, or draw. With brotherly love, John, Reno Nevada.
As you know- I was one of many who stuck my neck out in 2016 working to get the Green Party on the ballot. We succeeded- but the thieving 'others' would have none of it. Voting is busy work for the masses. The system has got to be dismantled from the ground up. How is the 64thousand dollar question.
I don’t know why anyone votes for any of these rich authoritarian capitalists. They have way too much power already. Why give them a vote of confidence? What is such a vote for, anyway? Trying to choose which one is dragging us all down into a complete fascist state the least rapidly?
Once again, you are right on this. It’s all a distraction by the Dems to turn the voters away from their lack of doing anything. I’ve been voting third party for years now. We are truly the Empire of Death !
I agree with you 100%. The overturning of Roe v. Wade is not about abortion. It is about enslavement of a population with certain biological characteristics, which paves the way for genocide and the death of democratic rule. Gun rights now exceed human rights. Fitting of a place where unborn rights exceed born rights! So how do we convince the younger generation and the "Sheep", who already believe the BS:"oh this means to vote blue at the ballot box this November!" Ughhhh sigh. #WomenRise #SmashThePatriarchy
My son, who I am proud to say is an Independent freethinker, does his best to avoid confrontation. But yesterday on Facebook he was trying to point out the the Democrats are just as culpable as the Republicans. Just in different ways. He took a ton of hit from the Shit Libs.
I suggested he ask them how they felt about the police lack of activity in the recent Texas school shooting. Knowing full well the people giving him shit would have been screaming blue murder about the police inactivity.
And this is where we are in 2022, where it seems a huge swath of Americans have completely lost the ability to think laterally. We have aprox 20% Trumpers who still think the sun shines out of his bulbous orange ass and aprox 20% Shit Libs who think they are Leftists because they know a black person at the PTA.
On the plus side. I can only hope the remaining 60% can get their shit together, unite and start a real political revolution.
Wonderfully written and reasoned artucle! On the bright side, more and more of us are seeing the corruption on both sides....not just on the "other" side! The system is SO rigged and so distorted. Do we even NEED "government "? For starters, we can get rid of the "Supreme" Court which abandoned the principle of non-partisanship entirely. A new day is dawning. How and what will we choose?!?

You said it! Every, single truth, every single reality. The saddest thing is- WE are truly our own worst enemy. How is it anybody really thinks voting is the answer? My money is on 'this' being yet another blow by a (hopefully) dying patriarchy. Fasten your seatbelts. We are in for a bumpy ride.
You are my hero! You are so right about the boundless hypocrisy that needs to be called out! Thank you for the truth of your words. I'm with you from NH.
That's the scary part. It will probably lead to something horrific, at which point, we won't be around to see, but we can only hope that something new and good will emerge from the ashes. What a messed up world. sigh.
The 2nd most exclusive entity in the world, and even more criminal than SCOTUS is the U.S. Senate--abolish both.

Right on, right on, right on!

“Busy work” indeed.

and it's a debate to decide which side is dragging us down faster---and I assert that there really aren't two sides, just one side: Profit

I shared your very well expressed thoughts in Facebook.
thanks, compañera
Thanks for all the truth you so eloquently spread…

Good additions to my piece!
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 👏
This is a masterpiece. Thank you Cindy.

thank you! We are many, they are few. (but they have all the nukes)
