Newsom's little French Laundry trick should have gotten him immediately suspended pending further review. I came across comedian Brent Pella's quite clever parody of the "Gav-Man" as a result of the Cali Governor's stunt. Yes, no one wants the entire country to be like here. The place I live is starting to slowly follow places like L.A. or SF—-I think we’ve had a handful of murders this year, when our average has been about 5. There are gangs coming to VV from the Bay Area to start turf wars. We moved up here from LA country in 1993 to escape all that bullshit.

Despite your tech issues (I get it, I normally work on a desktop PC with a big monitor. I could not be productive on a tablet. Tablets are designed for the consumption of content, not the creation of content.) My PC with Windows 7 finally crashed yesterday! I am now in the 2020s with Windows 11

I will never understand what happened to Californian Democrats. They used to be about people and freedom, weren't they, at least that is how an outsider like me thought looking in. I lived in Long Beach and San Diego for two years in the 1980s. Why are they voting these corporatist Nazi types now? Not just Newsolini, but the CA Democrat Legislature too!

Prof Michael Hudson in a recent talk brought my attention to the novels of Frank Norris, for example The Octopus, published just at the dawn of the 20th century, about the railroad and grain monopolies. Rich in historical detail and relevant to today.
