What a beautiful tribute to a most amazing sister and your love for each other. She is flying now with Casey in a universe that I am sure is kinder and more humane than this speck we inhabit called USA, Earth. I was a spectator at that march, having gone to DC with VFP for the inauguration. We were almost crushed by the pussy hatted hordes. I cried when Angela Davis came on the big screen, someone I had always admired (and still do) being part of the pussy hat march. VFP and other anti-war groups begged the march to take the anti-war message to the street. Who better than women, who bring life into this world, to stand against the war mongers who take it out. But no, they were too focused on their genitals. My partner and I walked back to the Metro at the end of the day, tripping over their stupid signs that littered the city. He, too, is now flying with Dede and Casey, and I know when it is my time, I will leave this inhumane, warring speck and fly with them.

I got into it with the organizers for not emphasizing war. The response wea, " we appreciate that is your issue, but we can't do it until 'all women are free,'" whatever the fuck that means. I was going to DC for that to join antiwar people, but,, canceled when Dede went into home hospice.

I can wish and hope but know I won’t have a friend as devoted as Dede’s was in my final days.

Honestly, as trite as it sounds- Dede and Casey are in a far, far better place. I really don't know what more to say. No words suffice. You were loyal and true to Dede; you have been loyal and true to your first born and devoted a lifetime to them both. What you have accomplished and continue to accomplish for those you do not know, sacrificing your comfort in the name of humanity says it all. Peace and Grace to you, Cindy. xoxo

Heart-wrenching.

But in a good way, if that makes any sense. 😥

Cindy

It’s beyond words to be able to read what resonates with me, what is of truth, what unites rather than divdes us. I believe it’s our strong inner connection that has connected us on the outer.

Smiling out loud 😅

Thank you, Cindy. I feel as if I somehow got to know Dede through you, when she was ill - and as she passed. And damn, those pink pussy hats.

My heart goes out to you! I lost my little sister/best friend Anne in 2012 to that demon cancer and the pain of not being able to do a fkkn thing about it tortures me to this day. 😔

A very moving tribute. You were so fortunate to each other for as long as you did. And, I believe, you will meet up again as you will with Casey too!! Thank you for sharing such a special relationship. Your courage is on so many levels.

When my Dad died of a heart attack when we were hiking in Glacier National Park at the age of 61, I had the persistent thought in the aftermath that the "dead are all about the living." Memory's a powerful thing, perhaps the only "life-after-death" that we can truly access. Remembering is a way of being-with, and really a form of extended life for the person passed, however dream-like it may seem...

Bless you for this commemoration of your "Irish twin." May she rest in peace.

I used to take my mom for vitamin-C infusions in Sebastopol, a Myer's cocktail. I could see the room when you described taking Dede there.

The doctor was Brian somebody--brother in law to some friends of ours in DeCeit who turned against me when I refused to take the covax, or, cower before the almighty covid.

Sigh--(they paid for Dede's treatments, as well)
