Pathetic Black/White Paradigms

IF YOU DON'T LIKE BIDEN, YOU MUST LOVE TRUMP

Immature Thinking:

If you oppose The Biden Crime Family then you must love Operation Warp Speed Trump

If you question vaccines, then you must hate science

If you believe in free speech, then you must support hate speech

If you oppose men in women’s spaces, then you must be transphobic

If you love peace, then you must be an anti-American terrorist

If you know voting is a sham, then you must be apathetic

If you loathe the apartheid/colonial state of Israel, then you must be anti-Semitic

If you loathe the conflict in Ukraine or NATO, you must love Putin

If you seek the truth, then you are a fascist

These are a few examples that I can think of off of the top of my head.

I think due to social media and instant access to thousands of people’s opinions (you know what they say about opinions), these false paradigms of “either, or” or basic black/white thinking have proliferated.

For me, this reasoning is like, If you don’t drink Coke, then you must drink Pepsi; or, If you don’t smoke Marlboros, then you must smoke Camels.

It seems really hard for a lot of people to conceive of a reality where “neither/nor” can be a choice—it could also be somewhere in the middle—or nowhere on the chart, at all.

A large proportion of my readers are brilliant, so I know you can think of many more of these moronic conclusions made by VERY shallow thinkers.
