I followed you for some years on FB, always enjoyed your posts, which I did see, at least some of them. Anyhoo... best of luck here. It's a decent environment, for both readers and writers. On my Substack, I've been writing about how Europe is being ruined by a Green movement which has been thoroughly co-opted by neocons and neoliberals and is pursuing a creepy Malthusian agenda to de-industrialize Europe. I say this as someone who has always been very pro-environment, but we need sensible environmental policies, not ones leading to economic suicide.
I get you on this---the Environmental Industrial Complex is in service to capital and against true environmental sustainability.
I have spoken and written about this myself. The big orgs in the US like 350.org are in collusion with the Pentagon and the liberals think electric cars and solar panels are sustainable/or will save us.
it is almost like that want most of us "useless eaters and breathers" gone.
Back in the 70s or thereabouts when the Greens were established in Germany, they were anti-nuke because they saw that the nuclear power industry was a branch of the military complex. That was probably then a good reason to oppose it, but they blithely thought that we could somehow move away from fossil fuels AND nuclear power at the same time, and switch to wind and solar, just like that. #FAIL. My biggest fear is that their colossal stupidity and complicity in corporate greenwashing is going to provoke a nasty backlash and set genuine environmental progress back.
Congratulation for getting rid of Facebook. I (maybe) still have an account but I didn’t visit Facebook for some seven or eight years. I can remember that I met Glen Ford of Black Agenda Report there, though the few meaningful exchanges with a few serious people didn’t make up for the time wasted on this platform.
Even the (usually) troll-flooded comment sections of average insignificant blogs are more useful to discuss matters, get insights, and make points one considers to be important, than Facebook.

Thanks, Colin!

I wish I knew what neo liberalism meant and neo conservatism meant..
Everything I thought I knew is topsy turvy.
I just call those non vaxxers, non maskers, freedom fighters.
Glad I can see your posts here.

I will really miss you on Facebook. Not ready to leave yet. Still love my FB female comrades who offer love, support, and valuable information.
Interesting to note that Newsolini's Declaration of Emergency included the newly coined phrase "Confirmed probable cases."
You can't make this shit up....oh wait, yes I guess you can.
If we are really comrades, then it won't matter where we connect.
you are so good to keep our connection going.

Just when you think you have heard it all they toss a new pitch.
I got a good laugh from your post.

Day 4-ish, and I feel great about the decision.
It had no benefit to me, but a lot of angst.
Like I told Lynn above, if someone is your true friend/comrade, one doesn't need social media for that.
