As the saying goes, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." Thanks for making it crystal clear, Bobby. So much for running as an "Independent."

I am not giving up for another few months on this issue.....there has to be a way to find out why he is believing this IF he does..and what's with Kucinich? Is he brain dead too?

Kucinich is good on the topic, but the longer he stays on this clusterfuck of a campaign, the less respect I have for him.

It's been the elephant in the room to me all along, RFKjr's father was assassinated by a Palestinian after his Dad's extremely pro-Israel speech. I have known this since I was 10 years old. This is forever in RFKjr's psyche. Of course Dennis Kucinich knows better than to lecture RFKjr on such a profoundly personal emotional topic, especially when they agree on everything else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma_RpEcm7NY&t=13s

Even RFK knows the CIA killed his father.

Again, Kennedy and West disappoint. Doubling down on wrong suggests they are unlikely to ever change their positions re Israel/Palestine. Whatever happened to Kennedy agreeing to be interviewed by/debate Max Blumenthal? Since he is so pig=headed wrong on this, I have to wonder how he arrived at many of his other positions, even those that ARE correct, if the reason for them is equally unfounded on truth.

Alas, Cindy, YOU are the only person of note with whom I agree on 99% of policy positions (I only say 99% as a hedge, because I haven't yet found ONE issue we disagree on!). If YOU were running for president, as much as I question the entire farce of it, and the "cyst-em" that maintains that farce, I would vote for YOU wholeheartedly.

Funding foreign wars delays the inevitable financial collapse of the US as it creates a demand for US currency.

I think that has a lot to do with this since RFK Jr keeps emphasizing affordable homeownership and he is trying to bring down the State Streets etc so this may be a financial chess move. I remember the Kennedy's up close and personal and they could be friggin' RUTHLESS to claim power...it's not a pretty quality. It's why the Mafioso hated them. And the CIA....birds of a feather clashing....

Bobby's comments (I'm tired of always writing "RFK Jr.") are appalling, even reprehensible--all the more because I deem them to be sincere and heartfelt. Regardless of all of the assumptions and speculation that Bobby has been (reluctantly) induced or coerced to exaggerate his blindered pro-Israel position in the name of electoral "realpolitik", I doubt that he would spew such a vehement outburst of Hasbara propaganda as a campaign tactic.

So, if there was any doubt, to me it's clear that Bobby has a malignant cataract-class blind spot regarding Palestine.

_______________________________________

That said, and without doing the requisite windy spewing myself, I've sampled some "alternative" reporting and commentary on this issue today that is infuriating, exasperating, and depressing. Again, without going into detail, some journalists or pundits I generally respect have made preliminary assessments wrapped in variations of the same knee-jerk false equivalence expressed by the politicians you quote here.

They revert to a disingenuous, hand-wringing "fair-mindedness", admitting that the (rogue) State of Israel's government has not exactly done right by the Palestinians. But they sternly echo the old platitude about this being an ancient conflict in which, in effect, both sides equally share the blame.

Thus, they virtuously suggest that, whatever the perpetual historic conflicts and tensions in the Israeli/Palestinian relationship, there is really no excuse for Palestine's "sudden", and implicitly "unprovoked" lethal provocation. They also imply, but do not explicitly discuss, that Palestine and the (rogue) State of Israel exist in a kind of resource parity. They don't acknowledge the historic and inconvenient David vs. Goliath parallel; their blithe assessments presume more of an incredible "David vs. David" characterization.

It gives me the fantods. 😠

Crocodile tears?

Right! This headline (2014) is an everyday occurance:

Mounting evidence of deliberate attacks on Gaza health workers by Israeli army

An immediate investigation is needed into mounting evidence that the Israel Defense Forces launched apparently deliberate attacks against hospitals and health professionals in Gaza, which have left six medics dead, said Amnesty International as it released disturbing testimonies from doctors, nurses, and ambulance personnel working in the area.

“The harrowing descriptions by ambulance drivers and other medics of the utterly impossible situation in which they have to work, with bombs and bullets killing or injuring their colleagues as they try to save lives, paint a grim reality of life in Gaza,” said Philip Luther, Middle East and North Africa Director at Amnesty International.

“Even more alarming is the mounting evidence that the Israeli army has targeted health facilities or professionals. Such attacks are absolutely prohibited by international law and would amount to war crimes. They only add to the already compelling argument that the situation should be referred to the International Criminal Court.”

Hospitals, doctors and ambulance staff, including those trying to evacuate people injured in Israeli attacks, have come under increased fire since 17 July.

Some medical teams have even been prevented from reaching critical areas altogether, leaving hundreds of injured civilians without access to life-saving help and entire families without assistance in removing the bodies of their loved ones.

Jaber Khalil Abu Rumileh, who supervises ambulance services in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital, told Amnesty International of a shelling attack on the medical facility on 21 July that lasted for half an hour.

“It was 3pm and I was working in the emergency unit. I heard bombing that shook the hospital. It was a shelling that had hit the fourth floor, the pregnancy and caesarean unit. Then there were a few more hits. People were terrified, patients ran out, doctors could not enter to help the injured and remove the dead. Then the third floor was hit and four people were killed. I saw one women come running with the child she just gave birth to. Some women gave birth during the shelling.”

Mohammad Abu Jumiza is partially deaf after suffering head injuries during an attack that took place while he was transferring injured people in his ambulance in Khan Younis on 24 July.

“We were on our way back to Nasser hospital, driving with the lights and sirens on as always. The ambulance was clearly marked as such. The doctor, nurse and I were all wearing medical uniforms. When we reached the Islamic University I heard an explosion right next to us and the front and back windows of the car fell out. As I was turning another missile hit next to us, and then a third one. When the fourth missile hit, I lost control and we crashed, so we ran out of the car and found shelter in a building. Then there were two more missiles fired and some people were injured.”

Biden needs to pe prosecuted, Donald Trump too. All of these guys have committed violence that had nothing to do with defending our homes or the Constitution. The partisan heroes are criminals: Saint Jimmy Carter and Ronnie Raygun, they all played covert games violating the sovereignty of other people and their nations. They had our government working inside other nations to undermine and overthrow, to arm and support violence. They worked to help distribute weapons illegally to human rights abusers and other criminals around the world, not to mention illegal narcotics and working to undermine representative government even within these United States.

Disappointing but not surprising given his already outspoken support of Israel.

I’m traveling to Philadelphia as I write to be at the rally Monday. Not exactly setting the tone for the occasion. Still waiting on the promised Blumenthal interview/debate.

But I feel desperate for any step in right direction and although I know he is way off on this matter, he is good on others. Unless it’s Bernie act 2 and I just can’t stomp the thought of that.

From Mark Crispin Miller today. Check out third story, the transcript, not the twitter. Even the pro-Israel, ex-IDF lady who casually normalizes the "terrorist" designation says there is NO WAY this was a "surprise." I immediately thought of the Sept. 11 "surprise" and "security failures." (And others, etc.). Also, I notice the other prominent "anti-establishment peace candidate" -- Trump -- is already on the megaphones about this.

Chicken coming back to roost since Nakba?

https://israelpalestinenews.org/palestinian-resistance-launches-surprise-attack-on-israel-updates-to-come/

After decades of Israeli occupation and human rights abuses, and after a 20-month-long mass nonviolent effort, Palestinians in Gaza launched a surprise operation against Israel on early Saturday morning. Its scale is unprecedented, involving aerial, sea and ground operations. Israel immediately began bombing Gaza and has turned off electricity to the enclave, leaving most of its two million inhabitants in the dark and hospitals dangerously impacted. There are now 200 Israelis dead, 9000 injured, and an unknown number captured; and 232 Palestinians dead and 1,600 injured.

Israeli forces, partly funded by the $13 million dollars per day that U.S. politicians have voted for them, are one of the world’s most powerful militaries, their weaponry vastly dwarfing Palestinians’. Today’s Palestinian land incursions largely consisted of individuals riding motorcycles and pickup trucks.

He is blinded by something personal I think....who knows. I post things constantly and send him emails about this issue. I am being trained for phone canvassing next week and I plan to tell the guy training two of us at this point why the candidate is mistaken. I could use some help coming up with some historical backing and talking points for an argument (that you do so well) .. I dated a guy years ago who gave me information about his grandfather who was a rabbi and was fiercely opposed to creating Israel. Not everyone was for it. He and another group were silenced by the Jewish establishment and the US government. The formation of a separate so called democratic CAPITALIST state was always a bad idea for that specific region..

And this is why I will not vote for RFK Jr. He is a well educated, learned man, so he cannot feign ignorance on the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and all the international parties complicit in enabling the Netanyahu war machine up to this point in time. He has helped to expose health matters such as the covid plandemic, and even the history of the Russian/ Ukranian conflict, but on the other side of his mouth continue to spout this old Zionist propaganda. Nobody is perfect, but this candidacy I cannot and will not support.
