[isn’t about RFK, but this is interesting to me]

more than a year ago, maybe two years ago, that would’ve been my answer. i remember thinking it was too “niche” for me to wade into—let parents figure it out. when that position finally became untenable, i consciously decided to educate myself, it was a slow process b/c there’s so many angles.

That is a huge subject. I, myself, changed my position over the years. One thing that never changed is if that child is old enough to survive by itself outside of the womb then you are actually killing a person. It is no longer just about your rights alone, your body alone. It is a separate person, separate body, separate rights if it can survive outside the womb.

Also no matter the decision, you are never just killing a bunch of random cells. It always is a potential to be a whole complete person. Not a fish. Not a puppy. A potential person.

I am prochoice but not after viability. I still think it's the woman's choice, though. We as a society need to do better. Jon Rappoport made a good point though. We thought RFK had a bigger IQ about drugs and how they affect children

Yep. Viability is a key factor beginning in the 2nd trimester, and is THE determining element in the 3rd.

What is so terrible about saying you arent informed enough yet to make a definitive statement? I have no skin in this game but the eagerness with which so many will immediately discard any public figure at the merest whiff of not having identical views on every single issue is disturbing - it strikes me that it is as big a problem as the lack of reasonable and articulate public figures, (and probably related).

Because I suspect like Rappoport does, it's bs.

well, you might be right - i guess we will see whether or not he does inform himself and take a position at some point before the election. i do know that he has evolved his positions on other topics, in what seem like reasonable ways, as he grows and learns. FWIW, on Gaza, which is i know where you really disagree with him (as do it), he has said that the 'war' (ie. massacre) should never have happened, given a strong US admin. He is also surrounded by people who are anti-genocide, but who are sticking with him, which i sincerely hope will help him see the error of his atrocious statements on that issue.

Don't you think it's weird that someone who is supposedly so aware of what big pHARMa does to our children would be so cavalier about this important issue? Or that someone with an almost encyclopedic layperson's knowledge of this industry would be so stupid? I do. But, I come by my cynicism naturally. Thanks for commenting!

i guess i just know so many people with widely diverging views - on both of these issues - who are not only sincere and uncompromised, but who i know to be solidly good people. The trans issues are complicated in my view and diverse opinions are more expected, but on Gaza - what good people are able to support its beyond what i could have imagined.... but i know it from direct experience. So because my instinct about RFK is that he is also sincere and honest, my inclination is to give him the benefit of the doubt, and hope his humility (and faith?) will allow him to see things more clearly. Anyway, perhaps time will tell. Appreciate your responses :)

I agree with you. There are too many scenarios and variables where trans may be necessary to save lives MEDICALLY (Siamese twins as an example). RFKjr is simply saying that there needs to be more discussion about when it is necessary and when it is not. He makes a good case that it belongs with parental control and not govt control.

This issue speaks to the larger problem that began with 9/11. It’s the loss of irony. Irony is, the way things are relative to the way they’re supposed to be. Buildings don’t actually explode without explosive and planes actually don’t vanish into underground mineshafts. But beginning that we were told the laws of physics turned upside down and everything that has happened since then is opposite-land. If we are made to forget how things are supposed to be we lose our ability to function normally. This is why we’ve seen the loss of comedy too. The loss of irony.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Cindy! This is extremely disappointing. Yes, why the hell hasn't Children's Health Defense covered the medical malpractice of pushing gender transition on kids?!

Maybe CHD is like RFKjr, they don't want to open that Pandora's Box.

Jr. should adopt the Biden campaign strategy that was so successful in 2020. Keep his mouth shut and hide in his basement. Oh yeah, and fake 80,000,000 votes. (God help us if there were really that many who voted for Genocide Gramps.)

Oh, well. I guess my only personally symbolic actual vote will go to #CornelWest or #JillStein.

When I vote for West or Stein I do it with the wish that the election will be close enough that our symbolic votes will count in the eyes of the candidates who would have liked to have our votes, and next time their platform will include things important to West and Stein.

there is nothing new here. A year (or so) ago I listened to a CHD presentation by a woman disguised as a man promoting genderism. It was the last time CHD had any credibility for me.

RFKjr is stating that parental consent is a MUST, and he doesn't know enough about it to ban it altogether under 18. I know for sure that I do not want politicians that claim to have knowledge that they do not have making medical decisions for parents. There are medically rare cases, Siamese twins, babies born with parts of a twin, babies born with both sex parts, etc. that we simply have to discuss to make exceptions for under 18. I agree with him that we don't know enough to say this is black and this is white. There are gray areas of exception for under 18 .... parental/guardian control must be the consistent factor. RFKjr makes this clear, govt does not override parenthood! If anyone knows more than RFKjr on the topic of exceptions, please raise your hand.

I agree that reassignment of sex for psychological "reasons" is a big NO .... even for adults! We do not have the choice to put our hands where are feet are and our legs where are arms are. There is a disorder that is rare that people want voluntary amputations.... do we accommodate them too because they are "adults"?

This is where the ridiculous ideas that men with surgically removed parts can go into women's sports, and their locker-room. Has Rappaport forgotten that RFKjr is adamantly against biological men competing against women? https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/rfk-jr-enters-trans-athlete-debate/ar-BB1iR6xR

I like Rappaport but his reporting is not topnotch on this topic. He is playing silly strawman games throughout his article.

We have vaccinated the now-adult kids as required to get them enrolled in school. They seem to have turned out ok, but who knows what would have been different if they hadn't got the shots. Now seeing the grandkids with one hand always attached to a "device", I have to wonder if that could be the biggest issue that's going to effect outcomes. By comparison, the trans issue is small and maybe not worth all the energy that goes there when something as universal as vaccinations may have a huge effect on our kids.

Expand full comment

I think RFKjr agrees with you that trans topic does not deserve the energy to give it more "credibility" (remember the old saying that even bad publicity is still good!). He stated his solid case for parental control of medical decisions

The whole Kennedy family are gangsters going back to old Joe and his Irish mafia smuggling days across the Canadian border. Surprising the Purple Gang tolerated him then but he probably did a convincing schmooze job for his Irish Whiskey connections. Who knows what else; Opium would be a stretch for some...not me. Fast forward to 1963. As much as I admire Jack for calling out the electric elephants in the room, that haunt America and the world, no surprise after giving that famous speech about secret societies, that LBJ the butcher of Vietnam - - (The Texas murderer and thief, throw his body in the Rio Grande) would be chosen to take over. Another bullet for RFK and even a convenient plane crash for JFK Jr. And another AIPAC slave is born. The world was a sane place (with problems, but some people had sanity) in 1973 before they scrubbed the AMA definition of Homosexuality as a mental health issue aka illness. There are TWO genders and 64 mental illnesses. The stable of Hasbara here can Kvetching all they want - - Isreal has the highest level of Homosexuality AND Pedophilia/child sex slavery. Imagine telling somebody 30 years ago that Pedo-Joe would be hosting Drag Queens bare chested FOR KIDS... ON THE WHITE HOUSE LAWN. God help us. We have Drag Queens and homos in every TV show, commercial, and film but: kids are free and not pressured. Never make me president, I will sort this problem on Day one Monday morning 8 o'clock. Donald Drumpf never tried to do in 4 YEARS - - because he and Kennedy serve the same MASTER from hell. Our problem is easy to solve.
