I'm equally puzzled by the cult appeal of Bobby. The whole family was glamorized in the 60s. Every magazine had Beatles and Kennedys and nothing else. But that was a long time ago, and the whole family has been out of the news since 1980. Most of his cultists are too young to be influenced by the earlier glamor.
The glamor was a good cop / bad cop trick. JFK and Nixon were the same man with opposite publicity. They were together on HUAC in the 50s persecuting heretics. They were both prowar in 1960, and the election was meant to be a cointoss. Deepstate hated Ike's genuine and popular antiwar policy, so we never got a choice after that.
