I get it, Cindy, I really really do, but . . . Those ex-hippies here on the Oregon Coast, back to the landers, all those yoga kids now gray old farts, many of them have entered that black and white world, and most are of the species of speak, hear, see no evil. Amazing, too, the Trump Derangement Syndrome, so, they go out on the beach, do yoga, eat salads, go out and protest carbon, turn off all alternative sources of history, knowledge and news, and yes, they hang with each other . . . .

So when some schlub like me comes into their fold, I get the bum's rush, or they just cancel me by moving away from, well, truths.

Then they Google-Gulag me, say, here, https://dissidentvoice.org/?s=Paul+Haeder&sa=Search , and then they try and pigeon hole me, a regular communist of the neo-communist variety, where a place like Nicaragua is attempting to move communism toward its always been moving there -- literacy, land reform, medicine, housing, culture, arts, and, well, you get the picture.

These mindful birders and amazing vegan cooks and true jet setters (man they travel everywhere to find themselve, others, what have you) they have learned the art of tuning out, turning off, and valorizing all the wrong things in politics and life, mas o menos.

But, yes, I rail and rail with polemics, teach classes with ire and fire, but I do get out of my head to recarge for the next and the next and the next day, in solidarity with, well, "the other," with the Gazans!

Paz, and happy healing, Cindy!!

As a Memphian that lived in Portland for a spell, I know EXACTLY what you are expressing. I hate always being around people that are somewhat like me.

Music 🎵

Depends on the music, though

Yeah. Some music can make you feel up-beat but actually burn you out.

Other music is relaxing yet makes you feel euphoric without the mania.

I'm finding that classical music is both invigorating and calming.

True. Very true. I’ve been listening to Artists United Against Aoartheid, so I understand that is a great question.

Thank you Cindy :)

Does anyone have an opinion about Med 7 Metabolic Support ... it's a fancy expensive Hemp Oil "formula". That and cheap Melatonin does help me sleep

Expand full comment

I’ve never looked into it. Do THC tincture and melatonin to sleep

Service and helping others -even just listening- can be a fabulous mood-booster, for you and the other(s)! Also, connecting with animals. Cooking, praying, gardening, and playing a musical instrument, singing or playing percussion on hand-drums or buckets/pots/pillows are also uplifting!
