STOP THE PRESS, NEWS FLASH: (off topic, I know, sorry Cindy)

The new and improved coronavirus vaccines should be ready by the fall to better protect profits, oops, people from the dreaded pandemic. But hurry, supplies won't last.

Soooo, Elmo of Sesame Street got a coronavirus jab after federal officials recommended the vaccines for children younger than age five. The clip from the episode sparked a new feud between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and the creators of the beloved children’s show. Cruz objected to Elmo “aggressively advocating” to vaccinate young children. (Geez, does anyone else object to brain-washing young children?)

you're safe my dear Cindy because you're not a monkey, but me, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Oh well, I'd rather die from a virus than a NATO nuclear war.

Left is a direction.

The categorization into left (progressive, liberal), middle (moderate) right (conservative) has become meaningless and all these terms should be buried. The adjectives “socialist, communist, anarchist” have beyond their historical value at least still some relevance in China, Russia, and the Global South.

Movements or whole societies are defined by social, economic, and political structures, as well as by cultural heritage. One could as well say that every individual is formed, shaped, imprinted by the cultural, social, economic, and political environment, with the sum of individual mindsets constituting the movements soul or the paramount social climate.

A few parameters on a sliding scale between two extremes may give an idea about possible individual mindsets and resulting characteristics of a particular society.

peace, harmony <> aggression, violence

compassion, empathy <> callousness, indifference

responsibility, solidarity <> individualism, egoism

public ownership <> private ownership

cooperation, sharing <> competition, exploitation

central control <> local autonomy

Societies can be homogenous or fractured, individuals can be settled (stable) or conflicted (psychopathic).
