Parenti really swims against the Academic current on Covid. The majority of the Ivory Tower set bought the Covid Lockdown Regime hook, line, and sinker. Mark Crispin Miller is another academic dissenter from the Covid Party Line...
I used to call myself a socialist, a lefty, but when the "left" turned on me and others for questioning the scamdemic and refusing to comply, I became completely confused.
So I started reading, specifically about Marx, Lenin and Stalin. Marx was a satanist. Two of his kids were sacrificed, I mean died of hunger. Weird how he always looks so robust in all the images of him.
Now I understand the quote: "When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called the People's Stick" - Mikhail Bakunin
I believe the lockdown-woke-left are possessed by whatever possessed Marx.
I appreciate them though for they have turned me back to God.
Marx wrote a lot. Have you read his work? Or are you just going by what the left told you about him? I ask because that was a mistake that I made. But then I started reading his literature:
“How so! I plunge, plunge wihout fail
My blood-black sabre into your soul.
That art God neither wants nor wists,
It leaps to the brain from Hell’s black mists.
“Till heart’s bewitched, till senses reel:
With Satan I have struck my deal.
He chalks the signs, beats time for me,
I play the death march fast and free”
The Fiddler, his poem about Satan and the power of evil. BTW, how many millions died under Lenin and Stalin?
Yes I have read quite a bit. Making my way through (with help) Volume 1 of "Das Kapital". Certainly one of the most brilliant minds of the 19th century (along with Engels) and more relevant today than ever as Capitalism is mired in its death throes which are now radiating out to the entire planet
The poem is an early writing and to attribute it to Marx's personal theology is quite foolish. Authors write all sorts of things expressing inner and outer meanings which do not necessarily represent their own views. It is called imagination. I have been its victim as well! ;-)
To call Marx some sore of Satan worshiper (whatever that even means ) is laughable. It is an ad hominem attack and a means to not engage with his ideas.
Lenin was dead by 1924. Arguments have been put forth that his promotion of a one party state helped paved the way for Stalinist dictatorship. Butt there were many other factors the principle one being, IMHO, the failure to extend the revolution outside of Russia.
Stalin's greatest murders were of the Old Bolsheviks (the "flower of the 1917 Revolution") in the trials of 1936-37. Which ended with his murder of Trotsky by a GPU agent in 1940.
His centralization of agriculture was a disaster as well.
There is a book which I would recommend called "The Bolsheviks in Power: The First Year of Soviet Rule in Petrograd" by Alexander Rabinowitch, a good objective detailed history.
I saw Ralph Nader speak to this subject on the campaign trail in Seattle in 2000. Corporate "capture" is a problem across the board, especially our politics and academics. Jimmy Dore is a lightning rod, while Albert Bourla and the Pfizer he represents is a snake...
I first noticed the "left vs left" phenomenon during California state politics of 2015 when the California Democratic Party(captured by pHARMa) made CA the bellwether state for flipping over statutory vaccine exemptions throughout USA. Democrats, Independents, and Republicans came out by the hundreds and hundreds in the CA State Capitol to oppose votes of these draconian bills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjZPoPaOk0s

Cash “subsidies”to many of the large universities by Pfizer are quite extensive. Jimmy Dore covered this recently if you wish for the details.

I hear you about the Lockdown Left but the part about Marx is pure fantasy.

Honest question: did you look into two of his children dying of hunger even though he looks so robust?
I would love to continue this debate with you. I look forward to your response.
I do know that he lived in great privation as an exile in London, somewhat supported by Engels who was the son of a wealthy factory owner I believe.
So maybe his kids suffered as a result. More that I do not know.
There is a good film called “Young Marx” which covers some of this in a somewhat factionalized form.

Son of Michael Parenti? Interesting.
Yes
