I just don't understand how feminists can back this very anti-female movement. Cindy and I are about the same age. If I suddenly "transition" to a "woman," then does that make me as much of a woman as she is? What about all my decades as a man? This is sheer lunacy, and only a few high profile feminists like J.K. Rowling are calling it out. If biological women don't reject this madness, then who will? It not only is an insult to everyone's intelligence, it has all but destroyed women's sports. And most real women don't care?

Radical feminists HAVE been fighting this travesty of trans ideology since the beginning. But you don't hear from them because they are deplatformed, threatened with assault, rape murder, (search J.K. Rowling to read what they tried to do to destroy her), losing their careers and scholarships, sharing washroom and gyms, having their books banned, etc. So, please don't blame all feminists. This is all by design to make them lose all remaining credibility.

The thing is, transhumanist predator billionaire male perverts are the ones funding this 'movement' and they're deliberately destroying the gains women have made in all aspects of global society. They've propagandized mainstream culture and weaponized women's innate compassion to ensure that feminism, a movement that seeks to give women equal rights in law, in the economy, in marriages, in the workplace, is destroyed. They're turning women against each other and men against women because we're easier to control if we're divided.

Trans ideology , therefore, is effectively a men's rights movement for it erases the female human as a distinct entity. Women who object are quickly and brutally punished.

There are MANY more websites and books written by radical feminists who see this issue for what it is - ultimately it's a movement to destabilize all of humanity to enable the oligarchs to execute their final plan. To make all of us slaves.

Precisely! I'll add, if I'm remembering correctly, Martina Navratilova to the Rowling short list. A proud lesbian woman.

Yes, Navratilova has been vocal against including men, especially those who went through puberty, in women's sports.

excuse me, but feminists are NOT going along with this. A feminist is someone who opposes the subordination of women and has a long history to back it up. "feminist" is not a cloak you can put on and take off anymore than woman is. imposters and liars all.

I think many liberals who consider themselves feminist do support this abomination.

My first reactions to this were sadness and anger on more than one level. First of course, the mere existence of the event. And also, with no judgment intended, almost a tragic feeling that the victim (not being facetious) accepts the parameters of the "competition" both before and after her experience. I feel it's very sad, even tragic, that she didn't react more like Riley Gaines did. This acceptance, like the acceptance of war, now permeates this culture as something "inevitable," as something "that's just the way it is."

True, but I cannot imagine training for something for years and years and not competing.

FYI. I’m Totally against any of this gender treatment for minors .. watchful waiting has worked successfully for years & needs to be re-instated ASAP as an option for treatment.

Thanks to Biden & AMA .. watchful waiting has been REMOVED from “treatment options” 😡

You have the facts wrong. The boxer in question is not a man. The boxer in question was born with both male and female (intersexed) characteristics but was raised as a female child.

Now, you could argue that her unique medical situation should have disqualified her. That’s fine.

Just please don’t apply this situation to your anti-trans agenda.

Edit: I am wrong. The boxer is a female, was born a female, and now my sister are campaigning against her because she’s not the right type of female.

Expand full comment

I don't have an "anti-trans" agenda, I have a pro-woman agenda. Then there is this one:

"Payton McNabb, an American volleyball player who was left partially paralyzed after a transgender player from the opposing team hit her head with a ball, told media that she is “disgusted” by this situation. “It used to be illegal for men to beat up women, and now people are putting it on TV and watching it. It's such a weird reality we are living in now,” she told the MailOnline."

My granddaughter plays volleyball. I would come unglued for the rest of my life if this happened to her!

That's why I've stayed out of this particular kerfluffle. The Algerian in question is something of a medical freak, and may have the XXY chromosome or something, which is extraordinarily rare.

It's not her fault, but is it fair to put someone like her in the ring with somebody else with only the XX chromosome? I am not qualified to answer that particular question, but if it was

some man built like Mike Tyson saying he's a woman, then I'd say it would be incredibly unfair, not to mention potentially murderous.

Ohio - actually - around 1/100 people are variant of XY / XX - including women who menstruate and have babies - so, it's actually not that rare. Testosterone and Estrogen and Androgens are highly variable - within the course of a life, a week, or even a day. (I been trying to say that in our many tiffs over this issue.)

Secondly, none of us know what the results of any testing were. It's all been speculation. Russia traditionally had its larger ladies challenged with tests back in the day - they were accused of being 'men' on a regular basis.

Moreover, Russia is currently incentivized to create a shit storm right now... they have been excluded from the Olympics for far lesser crimes than Israel, who are at the Olympics. They haven't shared the test results or protocols - so we have no clue what the results might be - or even if they are just lying. Plus, I saw pieces of the IBA interview and it was fucking unhinged. We DON'T know what those tests said, we DON'T have her medical reports, and NONE of us have looked over her gynecologists shoulders - but all evidence says 'It's a Girl."

Iman has boxed for a very long time. She's had her ass handed to her in the past by other women. She isn't built like Mike Tyson... she's built like scores of other boxers and wrestlers and shot-putters and long distance runners and weightlifters who are female...

Of course she is physically 'advantaged' - she's a fucking olympic athlete.

Two things are burning my ass here. These controversies (almost) ALWAYS surround women of color - and are rarely levied against European women (and you know I am not playing the woke card - they took that away from me a while ago.)

I remember Suraya Bonaly losing medals that were rightfully hers because she was 'too athletic,' 'not feminine enough,' and did moves that were 'unladylike.' Serena Williams and Simone Biles are frequently attacked for being too muscular and accused of doping - Serena Williams has also been accused of being a 'man' in the past.. Britney Griner has to have extra security because she's huge, black, and queer. Caster Semenya is forced to take fucking puberty blockers to change her hormone levels in order to compete - EVEN THOUGH she has a vagina and ovaries.

No one challenges giant men in Football or any other sport for their 'superior' levels of testosterone. No one is putting a height limit on men's basketball so that one team doesn't have an unfair advantage. Micheal Phelps' unique physiology that makes him a superior swimmer is celebrated, not derided. No one is demanding he change his body to be 'fair' to other swimmers, nor are other athletes whining about it being 'unfair' because he is more genetically gifted than they.

And almost no one challenges the use of anorexia and puberty blockers in traditionally 'girle' sports like gymnastics or figure skating designed to keep young women childlike and feminine in a sport where having a child's body is an 'advantage.'

The other thing burning my butt about this is how a non-trans woman is becoming the target of the gender police. Now, it's not just enough to have a vagina and ovaries. So much for the fucking 'What IS a Woman' crowd.

Now, to be a 'real' woman, one must:

1. Conform to the standards of White Womanhood or face the White Women's Tears

and

2. Subject ones-self to invasive medical examination to prove that, in addition to a functional vagina, one apparently must submit to chromosomal tests and share them with the world. (And half the world will dismiss the crotch shots and DNA tests as 'cheap fakes' anyway!)

A week ago these sock puppets were making arguments that only XX and XY exists and that gender is a binary, black-white issue. Suddenly they've all become experts on genetics and hormones that directly belie that simplistic bullshit - and rather that challenging their own bigoted bullshit beliefs, they are now using their misunderstanding of science to reenforce their bigotry in a way that smacks outrageously of eugenics.

Since I know you to be a brilliant and well read guy - I'd ask you to dig up a copy of Vonnegut's 'Harrison Bergeron' - where we all live in a world where we are all genetically equal. Too Smart? We have a cure for that. Too Pretty - we can do something about that too. Too Athletic - well, we can't have people being more gifted than anyone else.

This issue is stupid, considering their is an ongoing genocide, one of two unqualified genocides will be sitting in the Oval Office next January, and WWIII has already begun, even if people don't know it yet. However - this entire shitstorm smacks of an ugly fascism and it really creeps me out.

Expand full comment

I’ve read the Vonnegut story, so I get it. As I said, I am too ignorant to pass any judgement on the Algerian boxer. The fact that she lost to women in the past IS an important one.

I would have picked an easier, more obviously unfair, target than that person. You know, like a swimmer or a runner or a tennis player who couldn’t place as a man but now claims he is a woman just so he can get that gold.

Expand full comment

I 'almost' can't find the words...I cringed when I read the headlines and refused to watch the clips. Why? As a proud first gen Italian-American, I am always interested in what folks from Italy are up to; good, bad, indifferent. Obviously, I choose 'good' more often!

For me, the mere fact that women want to beat the &*%^ out of one another in boxing, the sport is apalling in and of itself. I get why men do, but I still don't 'like' the activity and rarely pay attention to it. Ditto with other violent sports like footbal, for example. But that's ME.

OK, so it's been an olympic sport for a long time. I still don't like the 'game'. Women pummeling each other turned me off right away. Fine. Maybe I'm a sissy. BUT this business here is beyond the pale.

Most commenters here have expressed pretty closely how I feel and how I have reacted about this latest abomination. Look, if you are gay/lesbian and/or any of the other letters- BE that! God bless and spare you agony and ridicule, self-denigration and paranoia. Live your life, and leave me out of it!

Legislating and forcing these personal decisions onto the public at large is NONSENSE! Mixing it up in sports is beyond mind numbing, ridiculous and dangerous.

I am standing by to hear the spin that some hardcore feminists are going to put on this incident. I am proud of Ms Carini for having the good sense to save her own life or potential permanent damage and calling the bout. And what of those who whinny about the abuse of women and girls? Hm. The View will have something to say about it. Or will they?
