I live in a working-class neighborhood where home prices for mid-20th century tract homes are going for around 550K, now. But, the important thing is that we are mostly working-class.
Some of Orange Man Bad’s economic policies would really help my family and my neighborhood and put more money in the pockets of the people who need it: US. A few of those policies would be no tax on tips; no tax on overtime wages, no income tax on social security, and protective tariffs to save jobs.
There is this one sh!tl!b house on my street that has had a Ukrainian flag on their fence since The Cadaver in Chief pledged the undying support of taxpayers in the U.S. to the Tiny Dictator Zelenskyy—this home is so out of step with the rest of the neighborhood (which is fine, I am not in favor with lockstep thinking, although, it seems they are in lockstep with the democripples), that on one of the cars, they now have two bumper stickers:
Joy is a Strategy
AND
We’re not Going Back. Harris-Walz 2024
Besides the obvious fact that Que Mala wants a new way forward from her own regime, “Joy” is not a “strategy,” it’s an emotion. This is the Oxford Dictionary definition of joy and strategy:
joy
/joi/
noun
a feeling of great pleasure
strat·e·gy
/ˈstradəjē/
noun
a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.
"time to develop a coherent economic strategy"
Que Mala has no action or policy to achieve any aims, let alone major, or overall ones, unless she stole them from Orange Man Bad. What “Joy” is in her campaign? Cackling laughter over inane comments like, “did you just fall out of a coconut tree?” Or, the plain “joy” of not having a shuffling corpse with dementia leading the ticket?
This image is not photoshopped, he actually wore it.
Really, where is the joy? Anyone who finds “joy” in Que Mala’s program of endless war, supporting genocide, economic collapse, and societal degradation must be privileged beyond belief!
It’s like the frenetic, almost insane “joy” of the cartoon characters Ren and Stimpy. I want the joy of being able to go to the grocery store without feeling like I am going to weep. If I have to buy gas and food the same day, it’s truly depressing. Many people my age have prescriptions to buy to be able to manage metabolic conditions and the $2k cap the Cadaver in Chief touts as a victory and “defeating big pHARMa” is $166/month that could be used for other necessities, or maybe go to a movie, or something? Even poor people need some recreation.
Anyway, to reiterate for the billionth time, I am not an Orange Man Bad supporter, but to answer the prevailing question of the day: was I better off when Orange Man Bad was president: there’s no question about it, I was. The vax mandate policy of the Cadaver in Chief and Que Mala eventually led to the collapse of my personal economy, when people who rejected the clotshot when Orange Man Bad was president, literally embraced it and the “boasters” when the regime became blue. Not only did the clotshot become “joy”fully embraced, those of us who refused it became anathema.

under the cadaver in chief's ruinous mandates numerous small theaters and studios (not to mention small businesses) closed in my town, never to re-open. Artists have been completely priced out of the downtown area, and yet expensive condos are going up everywhere, and are vacant. Homelessness has increased probably three-fold. Groceries are sky high and a lot of small farms who want to sell their produce are facing such harassment from the county (yes that's county politics, but it's a blue state ffs), that they can't sell their stuff unless its at an exorbitant price. And yet most artists I know hate trump with a demented passion. Most people have very short fking memories, and there are no working class artists here anymore, they're all MFAs. The working class see it, but they're blind on Gaza and the christian zios here try to scoop them up into their folds. bad times increase religious charlatanry.
Oh dear that was a bit of a rant. No, I don't like Trump. But Biden, Que Mala et al really revolt me--probably because their very existence is a lie. They couldn't tell the truth at gunpoint.
About the same.
Why?
Because housing was ridiculous for the last 2 decades and we spend most of our income on housing.
The inflation of gas and food is bad but housing takes a huge chunk of the budget vs those.... Also gas was more expensive under Bush, 5 dollars or so is equal to 8-9 a gallon today!
