Casey lives on the the hearts of all of us touched by a Cindy Sheehan. Blessings from a commie atheist. I'm working the Safeway store with one of my amazing clients with developmental disabilities.
Peace On Earth every day. I hope Israel does not Kill Rudolf and Santa with the "Iron Dome" tonight. I will spend 12/25 at an intersection, with a "Who Would Jesus Bomb" sign.. Great picture Cindy. Wage Peace and Love. I thank you with love.
I know Jackson. He was my favorite talent and my pretend boyfriend for years. His partner Diana was cool with it. However when he started to require proof of covax for going to his concerts, I def soured and was broken hearted. I couldn’t even go see my pretend bf perform. “Rebel” indeed. Same with my former friend Tom morello from, Not Even Annoyed With the Machine.
Yeah, I used to be in love with him too! He was so outspoken about Central America and the anti nuke movement but as he got older, he started going along with the liberal crowd, like most of my favorite musicians....Roger Waters is about the only one I have respect for now.
Jackson has been silent about the genocide too, even though Jesus was a Palestinian. 😔
Thank you for your courage and dedication to peace, sanity and the truth.
I think the best holiday music was created by J.S. Bach. This prelude is one of my favorites, performed by Michael Chapdelaine, who died suddenly and tragically in November.
“Even though I no longer consider myself 'Christian', I still vibe with many Carols from my stint in many Midnight Masses over the years.”

Geez (to begin with a Christian idiom), it's getting embarrassing to keep posting comments about what kindred spirits we are.
But, hell-- OK, "hell" is probably not the best word here-- it's true. I'm in the habit of spending evenings in my Fortress of Solitude sitting in my living room with my oversized Gibson J-200 guitar and bellowing out songs.
A couple of years ago, it belatedly occurred to me that if one wishes to sing Christmas carols, even for one's own amusement, one needs to improve on the practice of breaking out the Christmas songbooks in December and faking half-assed accompaniment during the brief holiday season. Instead, one (me) needed to put them in my nightly "rotation" along with my Pete Seeger and Dylan, etc. "playlists" and play them all year 'round.
So I did, and the payoff was more than just learning the songs by heart. The carols are both fun and occasionally challenging to play, but now I enjoy and appreciate them WAY more than I did when I fumbled through them during a short holiday window.
I was raised Roman Catholic; I was even an altar boy! I drifted away from the church in my early teens, and became an agnostic, atheistic "freethinker". But I unabashedly "vibe" with the carols and don't feel at all foolish or hypocritical in authentically enjoying and appreciating them.
In short: me, too! 😉
Tragically and appallingly, this year the Slaughter of the Innocents is taking place before Christmas. Bah! Humbug!
All the more reason to leave you with the line repeatedly spoken by Scrooge's housekeeper in the excellent 1951 film version of "A Christmas Carol" starring Alastair Sim: "Merry Christmas... if it ain't out o' keepin' with the situation!" 🎅 🎄 ⛄ 🎁 ☮
Merry Christmas, Cindy. Your post is very appropriate today. Damn shame we have to bear witness to such bullshit that's occurring in Gaza, and for that matter, Ukraine as well. Not to mention the fact that our evil-ass nation is responsible–for both. Enjoy the rest of your day! Meanwhile I'm baking bread and cookies to keep my mind off this damn mess.
A very merry christifus to you too Cindy! That’s a talented acapella rendition, but I can’t help favoring the masters of the Christmas song, Nat, Bing, and Frank! ❤️
Johann Sebastian Bach composed a special motet for all anti-war Christians who believe in the triumph of good over evil for the love of humanity.
It is called: "The Spirit Makes Our Weakness Stronger".
For optimism in our continuing mission to end war, violence and hatred remember the virtuous life of our Founding Father Benjamin Franklin who was quoted:
"We shall hang together,
or we shall hang separately" as an expression of his and George Washington's indomitable will to defeat the British Empire at all costs . So that America would become John Winthrop's City Upon A Hill, a model Republic for all the world to emulate.
As Franklin said, "It's A Republic, If You Can Keep It".
Merry Christmas. Here’s a version from Annie Haslam former lead singer of the classical music rock band Renaissance. Probably one of the best Christmas albums ever too.
Many years ago I made a cd with 14 different renditions of OH Holy Night. As it is also my favorite hymn. I am also and ex-Christian. But..... This one comes in 15th in my book.
wow! what an impactful picture that is. who did it? solstice greetings to you, Cindy, and y'all!

I am a COMMUNE-ist/atheist as well. And I love how you remembered Casey.
Love is the reason for all seasons, and for revolutions!
Beautiful rendition. Thanks Cindy
Celine Dion's O Holy Night: is also incredible.

If Jesus was born today, He would be under rubble.
Christmas is such a bizarre holiday. We try to convince ourselves that we want Peace on Earth while war and destruction
rages around the world....
My favorite Christmas song is "The Rebel Jesus" by Jackson Browne.

Jackson was the best.
Happy Holy Day to you Cindy! May His peace be with you.
Happy Festivus, Cindy, and all your readers.

Just sayin’.
I try not to lionize people that I don’t really know.
The anniversary of wounded knee is December 29th.
All kinds of remembrances during the holiday season.
I hope that yours is safe, and peaceful, and kind, Charles.
