What a delight to have you here on the elite writer's forum! (I consider Substack my go-to place for intelligent, well-researched and truthful content). And wow. I had no idea you did all that! I also loved Chavez and could stop a conversation cold bringing up all the reasons why he was a better leader than anyone we could even dream of electing. Looking forward to reading your books, reading your blogs, and hopefully voting for you!! Rock on sister!
Yes. It'd why Micheal Moore moved to Substack. I have one I set up during the scourge era... music blogy...lol. You have to have a following in place it seems to make $. Good luck with this. I think its ideal for you. BTW...moving back to California ( probably living in my car with the rest of us disabled seniors the Empire has used up) but will look forward to seeing you. Aloha
Cindy, I have no "religion" as most would define it. I do have a strong philosophy of life, especially my own, and I will happily say right here and now "BLESS YOU !". I have followed your journey since you first dared speak out in public, and I am very glad to have gotten to know you even this little bit. I also have to say that I wish I could have shared some of your time with Presidents Castro and Chavez, in my opinion two of the greatest true leaders of the last century.
I have also been really pleased that you moved away from the concept of 'party politics' and recognize what a dead end that is. The two-party illusion is one of the most detrimental, destructive things we live with in this country.
If you ever have occasion to visit the Tucson area, please let me know as you will always be welcome in my home, humble as it is, and at the very least I would love to meet and visit with you in person. I have a huge hug waiting for you.
Thanks, Ken---hugs are always welcome! I never got to meet Castro, unfortunately. I also admire and love him. While in Cuba, I did get to meet some amazing revolutionaries.
Yes, I agree. I was labeled by many in my high school as a 'commie pinko' (remember that one?) because I was speaking out in favor of Castro and the anti-imperialist revolution going on in Cuba as well as some other countries at that time. American 'nationalism' was at a high point in those days, as well as now. I frequently had several other students challenging me to fist-fights over that issue and others. I would likely fight to defend my life or that of another, but not to defend an idea. That is what dialogue is for.

Many thanks!
Cindy, you are an inspiration. I'm newer on the 'Cindy scene' so was unaware of your amazing past. My admiration is now greater than ever.
thanks, sir.

Wow...maybe it was in my daydreams... because I have that image in my mind. His brother Raul perhaps?
Nope, not even Raul. By the time I got to Cuba, Fidel was pretty ill. :( I think Castro and Chavez are the two most important people in my life time.
